The gods want her dead...Hades will bury them.
You'd think I'd have learned by now:
Don't mouth off to deities.
Don't fall for the King of the Underworld.
And definitely don't get dragged into a divine death match where I'm the cursed mortal prize.
But here I am--trapped in Tartarus, humanity's worst pit stop, squaring off against monsters who make the gods look merciful. Titans, twisted by centuries of rage and ruin, are sealed behind seven ancient locks.
And guess what?
I'm the key.
To escape, I'll have to survive every horrifying trial they throw at me.
To win, I might have to become something the gods never saw coming.
Oh, and Hades?
He's about to break every rule the gods ever wrote.
Because to save me...the god of death will burn the world.
But if I break free? So do the Titans.
And the world won't just suffer--it'll beg for the end.
The Crucible series is best enjoyed in order.

Oh. My. Gods. Abigail has done it again. This book gave me all the feels. And it ended in a way that left me needing more. So, so much more. I don't want to spoil anything but if you enjoy an emotional rollercoaster, you'll enjoy this series.Bonus, I did the audiobook and Hades' POV narrator is perfection! I mean, I already loved the original narrator, but his voice made me need to clench my thighs together. 😂
This book is beautiful! Bought as a gift for my sister. She loves this series. It came packaged well.
Great second book the series. Lots of action and great story line. It is a beautiful book. Ready for the next one in the series

The tangled timelines, wormholes, and reality bending moments were completely mind boggling in the best way, to the point where I’m pretty sure I only tracked about 80% of what was happening. 😵💫 It actually made me want to sit down and sketch out a timeline just to appreciate how cleverly everything connects. And Hades’ chapters? They cracked him open in a way that made me see him and his love for Lyra completely differently.I ended up falling even harder for the characters, especially the Titans. Cronos absolutely stole my heart… 🫶🏻The emotional stakes, the reveals, the chaos, the love—it all built toward a finale that left me staring at the last page in disbelief. And that cliffhanger? I’ll be sitting in my own personal Tartarus until book three arrives.𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#TheThingsGodsBreak
The first book, The Games Gods Play, was so gripping and amazingly written, I could NOT put it down. I was practically devastated when the book ended, but ecstatic that there another one coming, and only a few months to wait! The Things Gods Break is just as well written with so many twists and turns and relationships built between characters... again, I couldn't put it down! But rather than being depressed over finishing the book, I'm choosing excitement because Abigail Owen says there will be more to the story!! **Jumping for Joy!** I absolutely LOVE the relationship between Lyra and Hades! ❤️❤️❤️
