As a teacher, I can totally relate to this book. Brought me to tears at times. Unfortunately, this is the new reality of our times. This would be a great book club book and could lead to some great discussions. Don’t see it becoming a school read due to its nature though.

Wow!!!I went into this blind.It was a recommendation, I was told it was a short read (what I was looking for between series) so I said why not.I knew I’ve gotten myself in some mess once the assembly was over and it was taking them a long time to get out!*sigh*My heart hurts. This story was so gripping from beginning to end!I’m still in shock! Such a sad horrible story, to know this has happened. I did enjoy it though.Wow! 😭😭😭
It’s an ongoing joke in my house that I’m “dead inside” because all the popular books that are tear jerkers don’t have an effect on me. This is the first book that’s ever made me shed a tear… twice. This is like a window into a horrible reality that we never want to happen. But it does happen. Too often. Too tragic. Well written from differing points of view. I did appreciate the heroism from some of the students as I imagine that this would be realistic. The ending tore me apart. Bravo!
I wanted to read different things then I usually read… I’m in a challenge and that’s what it seeks to do! I found this book slow at 2/3 the way through but it picked up again. It had me locked to it the further and further I read the book. This makes you appreciate life so much more and think how life could be over in the blink of an eye.
