NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER - The extraordinary rediscovered novel from the Nobel Prize-winning author of Love in the Time of Cholera and One Hundred Years of Solitude--a moving tale of female desire and abandon
Sitting alone beside the languorous blue waters of the lagoon, Ana Magdalena Bach contemplates the men at the hotel bar. She has been happily married for twenty-seven years and has no reason to escape the life she has made with her husband and children. And yet, every August, she travels by ferry here to the island where her mother is buried, and for one night takes a new lover.
Across sultry Caribbean evenings full of salsa and boleros, lotharios and conmen, Ana journeys further each year into the hinterland of her desire and the fear hidden in her heart.
Constantly surprising, joyously sensual,Β Until August is a profound meditation on freedom, regret, self-transformation, and the mysteries of love--an unexpected gift from one of the greatest writers the world has ever known.

Excellent! I was so happy to get one last novel from GGM.
I can understand him not wanting to publish this book. It was entirely disappointing from the main character to the ending. There is no depth or empathy to Ana Magdalenaβs character. She comes across as a hypocritical woman just obsessed with men. Thereβs more things to life than her single minded obsession with finding a man to sleep with.
Gabos last novel. A masterpiece as always. I love his descriptive form of writing. It takes me there every time.
It is an incomplete, yet brilliant book, meant as the first of a three-part story. Garcia-Marquez did not want it published, but his children defied his will after he passed away. I'm glad they did. These are the last words of a great master. His ultimate farewell.
It is like catching this great writer amid a daydreamHe moves through minute detail in a world viewThe subtlety along side the Big Bang. This is result is passages of wisdom.Once again, love is explored in a most human way.
