She's always dreamed of her wedding day. And those dreams never included saying "I do" to a man she hates.
But when Tabitha's nephew's guardianship is contested, she decides she'll do whatever it takes to keep him in Rose Hill. Even if it means marrying the enemy.
Rhys Dupris.
A man who is secretive, broody, and completely infuriating. A man whose work takes him away for weeks on end and brings him back covered in mysterious bruises--ones he won't talk about. In fact, Tabitha and Rhys barely talk at all.
Which would be fine, except when he's not talking, he's staring. And the way he looks at her is borderline indecent.
The tension between them has always been palpable. But living under the same roof is a dangerous temptation.
Tabitha swore she would never forgive him. But that was before she knew the man behind the mask. The one who's fierce and protective. The one who's gentle and patient. The one who shows up for her and her nephew when they need him most.
He's not at all who she thought he was.
And that makes hating her husband so much harder...and loving him just a little too easy.

Super deep story about grieving and fighting for our loved ones even in toughest moments of our lives. This book was such a great surprise, the story, the kid, their jobs, while also beeing funny and snarky to each other in "enemies to lovers trope" even with lots of hard stuff happening to both of them. And the spice 🌶️🌶️ was wild
This was an emotionally captivating chokehold for the entire ride. The emotionally stunted withdrawal from our MMC and watching him rise to each and every occasion. Watching our FMC become the emotional hero of the story as she pulls him to her level on so many moments. Seeing these two grasp and heal one another. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming simultaneously. Check your triggers and enjoy.
Tabitha has done everything possible to help her sister beat addiction so she can raise her baby boy and have a better life. Even giving her space when it didn’t feel quite right to do so.Rhys is a very big, very private man used to two things: keeping secrets and helping his single-mom neighbor raise her baby boy. When Tabitha and Rhys end up living under the same roof as a married couple in order to raise the now-toddler as his legal guardians, it becomes clear that they both have believed narratives about the other that are simply untrue. This love story unravels in a beautiful, careful way that’s a signature of this series. There’s friction, surprises, sweetness, humor, history, fun, healing, spice and action. I really enjoyed Rhys and Tabitha's story. It had so many levels of emotion to it, as well as being a unique storyline. I loved their chemistry and connection through her nephew. There was a lot of tension between them at first, but as they learned the truth of the situation with Tabby's sister, they began to understand each other better. I enjoyed how their feelings grew stronger, as they explored their attraction. His career was fun and different. I liked how everyone supported him and didn't make light of it. He deserved to have a loyal family around him, after his shaky childhood. Great story!
It's hilarious at times, makes you want to cry at others. Overall, it's a story that will stick with me for a while. It's a really good read and touches on hard topics in a way that is respectful without lessening the harshness. Highly recommend.
