Many of us have dealt with people climbing the ladder to success and watching them stomp on others on the way up to the top. Joe Pickett is trying to solve a murder of a Forest Service person while Melinda Strickland and others are trying to take short cuts so they can look good. Many twists and turns in order for Joe to get to the truth. Another great read and encouraging that good people keep fighting for the truth.
A hard look at some difficult topics. An interesting twist to the normal Joe Pickett story line. A very fast paced action drama.

Another great story by CJ Box concerning Joe Pickett and his family and the other characters. As I’ve said before, who knew that a game warden’s life was so exciting. Toward the end, including today, I just couldn’t stop reading. Well, now I have to get back to work!
