The mystery only deepens when Mariella is approached by two strangers, Rose and Parker, who claim to be time travelers from the future. They say that interfering with the past - and Mariella - is forbidden, but they need her help to restore Parker's ability to time travel before they're caught in Mariella's timeline.
Shocked, Mariella agrees to help them. After all, they might hold the answers she's looking for. And the more time she spends with them, the more she finds herself drawn to Parker. As she fights to uncover the mysteries of her past and the secrets of his future, will Mariella discover the truth before time runs out - and Parker disappears forever?

So so pretty
Ella is alone in the world and finds it difficult to fit in with others after the death of her mother. Anna is the only friend she allows close to her after a potential boyfriend abruptly leaves her behind. However, her life is about to change when she meets Rose and Parker, two time travelers who are desperate and need her help.Within the Space of a Second is a dual POV, slow-burn, time travel novel. Everything about this book is unique and interesting, but it can also be confusing. You would expect Parker to have a POV in the book, but he doesn’t. The second narrator is Rose. There are multiple twists and turns to keep you guessing and turning the pages as quickly as possible. Some are more obvious than others, but you are definitely kept in suspense. There are also questions about character motives and Ella’s mother that still aren’t answered. It’s one of those books you have to stick with and give it a chance. Ella is confused and in the dark, so the reader has to go along for the ride and feel that confusion. At the end, it’s four stars when everything clicks into place at the conclusion, and I was left wanting to read book 2!
This book pulled me in way faster than I expected. I was curious and invested almost immediately.Mariella struggles with strange symptoms that make her feel like she is losing her grip the same way her mom once did, so she takes medication to keep it under control. But after her house catches fire and she manages to save her mom’s journals, only to find an entry dated after her mother’s death, everything shifts and she knows something bigger is happening. Then Rose and Parker show up claiming to be time travelers, and suddenly the pieces start falling into place in the most fascinating way. This is such a unique time travel romance, full of mystery that keeps you trying to connect the dots and a love story that has you hoping time will not run out for them. If you love quiet and atmospheric romances with a touch of magic, a bit of mystery, and a slow burn that sneaks up on you, this book truly delivers. Thoughtful, emotional, and lingering, I am still thinking about these two.
Mesmerising. Mysterious. Magical.I really enjoyed the pacing, setting and romantic tension in this time travel tale. The characters are thoughtfully written, and I really enjoyed my time with Mariella, Rose and Parker. Given this is a time travel story, it is told through multiple timelines and I enjoyed how this worked to slowly unravel the mystery of Neurovida and Mariella's experiences. This is a fantastic debut novel and I am very excited for the next story in The Mark of the Time Traveller series!
Loved it. I devoured this book. The storyline was super engaging; the first few pages and chapters really draw you in, and it maintains your attention throughout - strong pacing and easy, clever writing. Can recommend!I will definitely be purchasing the next one in the series.
