Riveting, honest, and above all generous. It is rare to get such an up close look into a presidential campaign and certainly not one such as this, with such a short time line. What a gift she gave us in this beautiful book. I am so grateful for it and her sevice to our country.🙏🏾The book also made me so sad at the lost opportunity our country had to be under her leadership. There are no perfect candidates or campaigns, but hers was certainly run more sincerely, transparently, and honestly than the other campaign. How much of her heart and soul went into the effort she was thrown into at the last minute is obvious. Also obvious is how much of a true public servant she is and always has been ("for the people"). I mourn what we could have had as we live through this national nightmare that is hurting so many people and our country's standing in the world.
Reading this book was like reliving the campaign, but this time thru her eyes. I went thru moments of joy and heartbreak while it was happening in real life, and again now reading this. I followed the campaign closely and I was captivated to read her share this story, candidly, thru her thoughts and feelings as she lived it. This book is a diary as it counts down the days but adds flashbacks to her past, but also includes relatively recent events to the release of the book. Honestly, I wanted more, but like a good series, I see this as just the beginning. It’s a quick read as some chapters are only a few paragraphs that document the details of that day.
We all know how this ended. It's sad to know who we have as a president and who we could have had. Kamala, in her own words, brought to light an extraordinary campaign; the highs and lows, what transpired behind the scenes, all the tensions that were happening as she campaigned for the highest office for President and working as Vice President to support then President Biden.I have always been fascinated by politics and politicians.Kamala sets the records straight. This is a brilliantly written book. Concise and factual.
I would wholly recommend this book to anyone to get a sense of this very short but inspiring contest. This account was so easy to read and very poignant in its vignette-style prose. Part of the story and I was so proud to vote for Madam Vice President Harris.
Harris’ 107 Days feels like sitting inside a pressure cooker of politics. She shares a lot of behind-the-scenes stories: the whirlwind of planning, pressure from staff, and the difficulty of stepping into such a short campaign window. The narrative can sometimes lean toward defending choices over fully owning mistakes, but that’s not surprising given the personal nature of the project. What stands out is the emotion — moments of frustration, regret, and exhaustion show through. As a reader, you sense she’s wrestling with a campaign that began and ended in rapid succession. The book is strongest when digging into the internal tension and decision-making, and a bit weaker when it glazes over deeper structural or strategic flaws.Overall, it’s a worthwhile read if you’re interested in political memoirs, campaign dynamics, or firsthand reflections on trying to pivot into a presidential run under pressure.
