Unlike many mysteries, this one was unpredictable to the very end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense.
A clever tale of a struggle of rehabilitation that is unknown to the protagonist. Complex story that is woven by intrigue into a wonderful fantasy.
I read this book within 5 days and let me tell you! This is BY FAR one of the best stories I’ve come across to date! The last 2 chapters had me audibly screaming and falling of the couch! I could barely put it down and honestly if I didn’t have to work, tend to my dog, and exercise, I would’ve read it in one sitting! If you love mysteries this should be on your shelf! You will be actively trying to figure out “who dun it” the ENTIRE time and you will NOT be be prepared for the twists and turns of this book or even be able to guess the ACTUAL outcome of this book! I sat in literal shock after finishing it because it was so good and actually hand clapped the author😂
The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle - not sure what I just read. I don’t usually mind books with multiple POV but this one left me very confused. I struggled to keep up with who was who and when. The “hosts” are out of order but all have the same purpose - to save Evelyn Hardcastle. SPOILER - - - Similar to Black Mirror White Bear episode. Blackheath is a prison with a murder to solve to escape repeating the time over again. The murder is nearly impossible to solve 1.) the footman kills the hosts 2.) if you fall asleep; you wake up with no memories of the events that happened 3.) Aiden gets 8 days to solve the murder - everyone else only has one day - one host. Aiden is there voluntarily to see what happens in this prison, to see if it was enough punishment. The others are all there because of their crimes. Anna killed Aiden’s sister. I may attempt a 2nd go through and read/listen to the book and take copious notes. I listened to the audio book and maybe that was the problem - I got confused and then distracted very easily. Usually I am locked into audiobooks.
THE most complicated mystery I've ever read. First, you must figure out the surreal story, which is the basis for the mystery. Then, you must follow it through multiple twists and turns until the very last chapter where everything comes together. It's an absorbing, fun book to read. Kudos to the author.
