Avalon Academy rules: spy on your enemies, resist temptation, and try not to die in the process.
As a bookseller and caregiver, I saved up years for my dream vacation--drinking champagne on a beach with my favorite books. But my dream turns into a nightmare when I'm kidnapped by a muscular, tattooed jerk of a fey named Raphael.
Yes, kidnapped.
Turns out I have the power he needs to get revenge on the king who killed his family. And Raphael thinks I have it in me to become an elite spy. But in the ancient and gothic halls of Avalon Tower, competition and bullying are among the oldest traditions.
Asthmatic and out of shape, I'm in way over my head. I'll be lucky to get out of this place alive. I can't escape, because Raphael is watching my every move, and boy, does he have some moves. And the more I learn, the more I want him. But touching him is playing with fire. Am I ready to get burned?

For a book with very minimal smut which is a divergence from my usual. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The beginning of the book grabs your attention it’s not boring like most. the timeline moves at a good and reasonable pace. The main fmc and mmc is not stupid or annoying like most books, where they make dumb decisions or irrational thinking. The attention to detail is actually insane like you have to remember things bc it makes sense later on. And even though there isn’t really any smut the tension is a great build up for when it occurs and book 2. I highly recommend also the cliff hanger CRAZY
Even if the author did kinda forget about it as the book went on and she adjusted to get new circumstances. I have no idea how there could be a happy ending for our protagonists, but there BETTER be one eventually. I'm subtracting a star because I'm skeptical about the ending. I'll try to avoid spoilers, but adding someone that famous, that classic, that old, and having them be alive in modern times, it is risky as heck. And father? Really? I mean if it's every hundred years, HOW?! So... I'm really not sure this is gonna pay off. But I hope it does.
My only question would be how she ended up with her mother. Hopefully the next book explains it. Thats how good it is, leaves you wanting more.
Let me be frank with you, Sarah. This is the book for you.Characters were ten out of ten. Humor, personality, descriptions of backgrounds. Perfection.Next, plot.Sarah, Sarah. Wow. I am just trying over here. I read the book in, like, two days, okay? And I haven’t read anything in weeks. But let me tell you Sarah, yes. The plot was on point. Magnificent, sturdy, twisty, and there were no holes. I was shocked. I was not bored. Nope, not once. But, close to the end I was freaking out because WHAT JUST HAPPENED. You know?Romance, Sarah, you won’t feel single anymore. You will live vicariously through these ones. They were perfect. I think it had the best mix of romance and friendship and plot. Don’t even get me started again on the plot. 🎢🎢🎢I don’t have anyone to talk to and I’m tweaking because it was so good. Do I need to emphasize that for you, Sarah? Okay. It was SO GOOD.And the people’s powers and strengths? Oh shrooney, was perfect.✨ Perfect, perfect, perfect. ✨Has dragons, fey, humans, and WOW.
This is such a great fantasy! I devoured it and totally ate up the enemies to lovers trope. And the ending just leaves you NEEEEDING the next book!
