The New York Times bestselling conclusion to the groundbreaking, Hugo Award-winning series from China's most beloved science fiction author, Cixin Liu.

Half a century after the Doomsday Battle, the uneasy balance of Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolaran invaders at bay. Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the infusion of Trisolaran knowledge. With human science advancing daily and the Trisolarans adopting Earth culture, it seems that the two civilizations will soon be able to co-exist peacefully as equals without the terrible threat of mutually assured annihilation. But the peace has also made humanity complacent.

Cheng Xin, an aerospace engineer from the early twenty-first century, awakens from hibernation in this new age. She brings with her knowledge of a long-forgotten program dating from the beginning of the Trisolar Crisis, and her very presence may upset the delicate balance between two worlds. Will humanity reach for the stars or die in its cradle?

Final book of The Three Body Problem

(This review is for the full trilogy)This is the most complex and creative science fiction story I have ever read. I enjoyed the characters and how the story evolved over the 4 books. The only reason I have it 4 stars instead of 5 is my own failure: never having taken physics, or any higher level math/science classes, some of the passages were way over my head, especially in third book.

A sobering and powerful vision of the Universe.

Highly recommended reading. Well written , incredible imagination and scope. Thought provoking issues and insane but plausible scenarios. If you read the first to two books, the ending is strong.

it was a lot! amazing, and a lot to digest

One thing I love most about this book—and the previous ones—is how it brings out love and care in every character, even in the smallest details. It truly surprises me with so many twists, none of which are even close to predictable. I really enjoyed it, though I have to say it could have easily been two or three books—there’s so much going on. Just when you think you’re approaching some kind of closure, the characters are thrown back into even more distress. But who am I to critique? I truly loved and lived this book. Thank you

gripping and fascinating

Hard science fiction at its best. Extremely fast paced with many twists and turns. Has a sad ending of sorts but makes the universe grand.

amazing, epic, and mind-bending

The sweep of this story (including the two previous novels) is breathtaking. From the quantum realm and multiple dimensions, to the far limits of the universe, from the Big Bang to the Big Crunch, or alternatively, the heat death of the universe, this story covers a lot of ground.Death’s End continues the story of Cheng Xin and Lou Ji and humanity’s continued interactions with the Trisolarians. They do come and they conquer Earth, but a gravity wave broadcast changes the fate of both civilizations and the Trisolarians run for cover. Unfortunately, this also put a target on humanity’s back, and the struggle for survival in a Dark Forest universe continues. It takes a good amount of imagination to visualize some of the mind-boggling events and scenes near the end of the story. This one, like the previous two in the series, leaves me with plenty to ponder afterwards.
