Now, he's standing before our families calling me his future wife. He doesn't understand that my life isn't that simple. I have secrets of my own, and his obsession with claiming me might just get me killed. My heroes are hardened criminals with soft spots for their heroines. There may be violence and cruelty in my books, but never between the main characters. Enjoy!

Amazing book full of spice and twists and turns at every corner!! Will buy more from this author!!!
Pros:This book has a series of beautiful moments where a person stops just surviving and works to have more. We see the little, painful truths get shared along with the big fears but the most important thing is we get to see the main character stand up to the person who hurt her, accuse him and have it taken seriously. The way Sante handles a lot of things didn’t work for me but seeing him support Amelie and respect her wishes really made everything about this story work.Cons:I went into this book nearly blind other than the synopsis. I’ve never read from the author before and didn’t realize this is part of an interconnected world. I struggled to grasp some of the relationships until about halfway through the book when more was explained and there were flashbacks. I didn’t feel a connection between the main characters until after that and found it a bit uncomfortable that he claimed her and she just went with it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️️⭐️/ ️🌶️🌶️🌶️What a book to be introduced to Jill Ramsower’s writing. Devil’s Thirst immediately pulled me in with the storylines of our MCs that became intertwined. I am not a huge fan of mafia romance, but this one held my attention. With this being a spin off series, there were a few parts I felt I was missing some information, but nothing that thwarted the storyline overall for me. The story between our MCs was clear. I do love an MMC who is completely obsessed with the FMC and Jill definitely delivered that.Santa and Amelia met one night at a wedding. After four years, he still can’t get Amelia off his mind so decides to go visit her. His visit will be in the shadows though, not letting Amelia know he is watching her. He doesn’t remain in the shadows for long though and the next thing Amelia knows, she’s being introduced as his future wife. The push and pull these two have between them is electric. Sante makes Amelia feel alive and desired unlike she’s ever felt before. And she calms Sante and brings him a steadiness that he isn’t familiar with. When they first meet, Sante introduces himself as “Isaac” (his middle name) and quickly inserts himself into her life. Although taken aback when she finds out who he really is, she can’t deny how she feels drawn to him also. Both characters are fighting inner demons and as they begin to trust each other to help work through inner trauma, I loved how these two supported each other and fought for their happiness. And while their romance is what held me captive, Jill included twists and turns that I never saw coming. I am usually pretty good at foreshadowing, but this book kept me guessing. If you want to better understand how Amelia and Sante started out, you can read the Brynn Brothers series also by Jill.As always, review any author notes before reading. What to Expect:🩰Alpha anti-hero🖤Obsessed stalker🩰Ballerina good girl🖤Touch her and 💀🩰Secret identity🖤Slow burn🩰Tragic past🖤My wife
I follow many Indie/Self Published authors on TikTok (RIP maybe 🙁) and I have found many interesting reads that way. Devil’s Thirst by Jill Ramsower is one of them. After ordering this book — mostly because the cover is amazing TBH — I couldn’t wait to start reading it. After a few pages, I started to wonder if there was a previous book that I’d missed because there were many references to people and events that had already happened. After a little more research, I found out that the author has many, many books in a few different series that are all interconnected. While she did a good job filling in some blanks as these things came along, I couldn’t help thinking I was missing vital information. So, if you haven’t read the previous series’, I’d highly recommend it… Especially the Byrne Brothers Series. While it’s not necessary, it couldn’t hurt and I think it would probably make the story even more enjoyable.I’m not sure I’d call this a slow burn, but in a lot of ways it is. There are some spicy bits before the actual act that are actually more appealing in this story. Many authors would jump right to the “dessert” but Jill gives a little bit of an appetizer before the main course, letting you work your way up to the sweet stuff at the end.I don’t read a lot of Mafia Romance and it isn’t something I seek out, but I enjoyed the nuance of the story and the power Isaac/Sante stood behind. As stated above, because of the interwoven mafia families, there were a lot of characters I found it hard to keep track of, having not read any of the previous books.I personally appreciated all of the care her MMC took with the FMC, especially after finding out about her difficult past. Consent is everywhere in this book, and serves as a great example of a man focusing on his partners feelings and well-being, even when desire is difficult to control. If you’re looking for an author to binge-read with a lot of books, this may be your new favorite. Start at the beginning instead of the end, like me, but reading Devil’s Thirst as a stand-alone is certainly ok.
I'm so glad picked this book up! I'm such a sucker for the Mafia trope and this one was amazing! There were so many reasons I loved Sante! Right from the start, we feel his intensity when it comes to Amelie, and I loved that we were first introduced to that from her point of view!I really liked that Amelie's story unfolded slowly and we kept uncovering her secrets as the story goes out!I'm definitely colorblind when it comes to the red flags, so check the triggers for this one!
