Excellent book

We picked this book for my family book club, which includes a fourth grader, and everyone of us LOVED this book. There is more violence than we expected.

Gory Dragon Fantasy

I'm reading this with my fourth grader. Its entertaining plot and enjoyable characters kept us coming back for more. It can get a bit graphic at parts. The story is imaginative and thrilling.

Love love love. YES to fantasy story for 9-12 YO’s

Wings of fire is one of our absolute most favorite series of all time! For anyone who enjoys fantasy reading I highly highly highly recommend. A bit easier than Harry Potter, this book presents a 15 book series. It can be read insets of the 3 prophecies - each contain five books, but I think you will find them impossible to put down once you get past abt page 100 in the first book. I read these alongside my 10-year-old during Covid and it is one of our most cherished memories. It gave us so much to talk about! We caught up with the publications and would anxiously wait for the final books to come out. πŸ’œThe characters and plot are shockingly complex. Don’t think this is just another simple dragon series. There are also very violent moments (like snapping a dragonβ€˜s neck to kill them) which I thought was a little too intense for my 10-year-old, but he took it in stride. It allowed us to have good conversations about war and manipulation. I adore this author and give her a ton of credit for how she wove this story together. We still love WOF today and I am working on getting his younger brother to read the series. When you get really into these books, you can complete an entire book in a day or two!
