When you kiss your perfect boyfriend under the mistletoe...only for your cousin to scream to the family that you stole her man, Christmas is OVER.
In my defense, I didn't know my boss-yup, boss. Buckle up because this is messy-was my cousin's newly minted and totally lying fiancé. I thought he was the Nutcracker Prince come to finally show my family that I, too, was worthy of putting the star atop the Christmas tree.
I was so wrong.
Now my entire family thinks I'm a ho ho ho.
I'm at the top of the naughty list, not in a fun Elf on the Shelf way, but rather in a snide-comments-at-brunch and sitting-at-the-kids'-table kinda way.
I have to clear my name, or Christmas is ruined. Again.
What better way than to blackmail my family's number one sworn enemy?
Anderson Wynter is this desperate elf's last hope. Six-foot-five, ethically challenged, with washboard abs and a death wish, Anderson is the perfect weapon to expose my ex and help me get back in my family's good graces.
That is, until the weapon massively backfires... and no, not like that.
Anderson goes full Nightmare Before Christmas and shows up at my family's annual holiday party in nothing but tattoos and a motorcycle helmet and tells everyone we're dating.
Yep, that kicks me off the naughty list and sends me straight to the Grinch's garbage dump.
Now I'm chained to a motorcycle-riding bad elf with terrible morals and an even worse attitude-one who sticks his hand down my shirt in the middle of my parents' posh country club and tells me to ride him like I do his bike.
When I slap him, he just smirks and asks if I fluff my marshmallows while fantasizing about betraying my family with him.
As if.
No way am I sleeping with the man my entire family hates.
Because that won't just ruin Christmas.
It'll ruin the rest of my life.

This is snorting funny. The female main character is just like someone you know. They need a boost of self worth!! But the hottie guy, wooooo he is steamy. Just like head turning wow. Love the whole series. Please, please, please read these books. You will not regret getting books for your library.
This story is a laugh. Absolutely loved the story. Evie and Anderson are meant to be together. Evie was adopted by the Murphy family and has never quite fit in with the perfection her parents expect. She tries to make up to her family by bring the main cook, maid, and decorator....Cinderella like.
I am enjoying her books but the one thing that is bothering me is her MFC are not respected by their families and they let everyone walk all over them. The story lines are great but I wish she could write where the MFC isn’t a pushover or their families aren’t just horrible to them.
Dnf because by chapter three I had had enough of the similarities to book one. Spoilers… I guess…We have a low self esteem female lead who hides in the kitchen baking sweets and goods for a family that under appreciates them.We have a fiancé, though while they were engaged in book one, with the sister being the “home wrecker”, in book two it is the other way around. We have the few (1-2) supportive cousin/s.The battling grandmas. One who loves her unconditionally while the other doesn’t.Parents who are constantly disappointed in her and constantly look down on her.The bad boy, leather clad, Wynter guy.Breaking in for espionage by said winter. The unwanted by most of the characters, dog sidekick. The phrase “you can come down my chimney”…I don’t think I can take 500+ pages of a rehash of characters who just happen to have different names.
This is book two in The Wynter Brothers series. I did not realize this was book two in a series. Also the story did not match the blurb which was disappointing. I was expecting a romantic comedy or funny story of sorts but instead the first 60 percent was everyone let’s bully and dump on Evie Murphy. She is the lead female character, who was adopted. Evie is quirky and nonsensical but entertaining. She is deceived by her boyfriend who turns out to be engaged to her sister Felicity. Next Anderson, the lead male character, who was wronged by the Murphy family, comes along to get revenge and get even. Evie finds Anderson in her father’s study and demands that he be her pretend boyfriend or she will report him. Instead of him going along with it, Anderson proceeds to make Evie’s already life worst and humiliates her at every opportunity. This bullying behavior from Evie’s family plus Anderson got old quickly. It wasn’t until after 70 percent mark that Anderson started treating Evie slightly better. The book is not bad, my issue is that the story did not match the blurb which indicated a romance not constant bullying; what I read was not a book that I would have chosen to read. Disappointed!
