NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING SERIES
A REESE WITHERSPOON x HELLO SUNSHINE BOOK CLUB YA PICK
Filled with all of the action, emotion, and lyrical writing that brought readers to Sky in the Deep, New York Times bestselling author Adrienne Young returns with Fable, the first book in this new captivating duology.
Welcome to a world made dangerous by the sea and by those who wish to profit from it. Where a young girl must find her place and her family while trying to survive in a world built for men.
As the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home seventeen-year-old Fable has ever known. It's been four years since the night she watched her mother drown during an unforgiving storm. The next day her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her. The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew. To do so Fable enlists the help of a young trader named West to get her off the island and across the Narrows to her father.
But her father's rivalries and the dangers of his trading enterprise have only multiplied since she last saw him and Fable soon finds that West isn't who he seems. Together, they will have to survive more than the treacherous storms that haunt the Narrows if they're going to stay alive.
Fable takes you on a spectacular journey filled with romance, intrigue and adventure.

Such an amazing adventure this book takes you on from the first page to the cliffhanger on the last page!
Yet another excellent book by Adrienne Young. I liked this more than Sky in the Deep. In that book, the writing was fantastic as always but the plot and characterization was just average. However, in Fable everything was great! Excellent writing, plot, and characterization. I'm ready to jump into Namesake right now.
One of my favorite books of all times! I seriously can't get enough of Adrienne Young's books and the way she weaves her stories. The plot was spectacular and had me dying to know what would happen next. I can't wait to read the next book.
Fable is a story of a woman finding her way against unlikely odds. Abandoned on an island forced to survive against others who would cut her throat sooner than help her, Fable finds a way to get by, and eventually find her way. After having this book on my TBR for a while and on my bookshelf for several months, I finally picked it up on a whim. Holy moly. What an adventure this story weaves. Every time Fable gets her footing, it seems to be cut out from under her. And yet, she perseveres.Adrienne Young has a lyrical writing style that takes the reader on a fantastical journey. Every book I’ve read of here, I finish with a great sigh and am reminded how much I love her work.

As they journey together, the stakes rise with the revelation that West harbors secrets of his own tied to Fable’s father’s tumultuous past. Young’s lyrical writing and emotionally resonant storytelling make "Fable" a captivating start to a new duology, filled with action, intrigue, and the struggles of a young woman fighting to carve out her identity in a world dominated by men.
