If you are on the left, feel free to read this diatribe and exaggeration about right-wing extremists. It's well written but relentless in heavy-handed parody and snarky barbs not only toward the so-called "far right" but about all things Republican. Perhaps the author found that writing this was therapeutic. I hope he feels better and can now cope with watching the great things our president is doing.
This book was one of his longest, but I felt confused at times since political corruption is not my thing. I did get quick out of the Strikerz of Liberty and the underhanded dealings of Cute Boynette.
Carl Hiaasen does not disappoint in his new book, FEVER BEACH. His characters are new and just as quirky as the ones in his previous novels. The story has twists and turns and laughs and gasps. A great fun read.
Another laugh out loud, timely romp from the master, Carl Hiaasen, that you won’t put down until “the end.” I’ll be ready to reread it again in a matter of days
Imagine living in a state where your senator is a scammer, your governor does shady deals to avoid Sunshine laws, the county sheriff may be a Proud Boy and your suburban neighbor may have an arsenal in his garage; you the basic outline for a Hiaasen book. This one doesn't disappoint! Even if your not a resident of the Free State of Florida, this book will make you chuckle, shake your head and wonder when the next one comes out.
