"The best thriller of the year...an exciting and entertaining read." --The Washington Times
"A top-notch thriller." --Bill O'Reilly
From #1 New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brad Thor--a brilliant thriller as "current as tomorrow's headlines" (Dan Brown, #1 New York Times bestselling author). Terrorism in Europe has spun out of control. The United States has decided on a dramatic response. Now, the CIA needs a very special kind of operative.
Scot Harvath has exactly the skills the CIA is looking for. He's a former U.S. Navy SEAL with extensive experience in espionage. Working for a private intelligence company, he will provide the CIA, and more important, the President, with absolute deniability.
But deep within the Russian Caucasus, Moscow also has its own special kind of operative. As a child, Sacha Baseyev endured an unimaginable horror. Today, he lives and breathes for only one reason--to kill. And he will kill as many Americans as it takes to accomplish his mission.
When a clandestine American operations team is ambushed near Syria, all signs point toward a dangerous informant in Brussels. But as Harvath searches for the man, he uncovers another actor--a rogue player hell-bent on forcing America's hand and drawing it into a confrontation deadlier than anyone could have imagined.
As the attacks mount, and terror is brought to the very doorstep of the White House, Harvath finds himself in the race of his life. From Vienna, Brussels, and Berlin, to Malta, Jordan, and Syria--he will push himself beyond the edge in order to confront one of the greatest evils the world has ever known.

Another amazing espionage thriller from Brad Thor. Scot Harvath is the man! Foreign Agent is a true page turner and Brad Thor’s writing keeps you wanting more.
nice read, twists and turns. You always wonder if Harveth has meet his end to find a violent way out one more time
The middle east, the different sects , is very complicated and what we might dream.of doing to balance the terrorist deaths in Syria is not a simple solution. I appreciate the people who work with us and they do deserve citizenship as fellow warriors.Great read and educational along with great cloak and dagger writing.
Brad Thor's latest book, Foreign Agent, is another solid thriller in this franchise. This time out, Horvath must track down the source responsible for not only interfering with his own missions, but also is responsible for assassinating the US Secretary of Defense, all with the intent of dragging the US further into the Middle East mess. Horvath traipses all over Europe, slowly peeling back the cover of a rogue pseudo-ISIS mastermind. Along the way, he engages with several new colleagues, including a German police officer and a couple of Syrian resistance fighters, all while going toe-to-toe with Russian agents. At the same time, he reconnects with an old colleague. Both old and new colleagues may be additional fodder for future installments. The tradecraft is pure Horvath which can be over the top at times, but are a bit subdued this time out. There's an emphasis on pure detective style sleuthing as well as operating in hostile territory. Thor has scaled back the involvement of Nicolas, the pygmy cyber genius to more realistic contributions and Scott continues to struggle with the irreconcilable nature of his professional versus private life. Whether this introspection remains an ongoing theme or provides a bridge to shifting gears remains to be seen, but it's hard to imagine Horvath changing his spots for simple domestic bliss. While the story and plot is obviously purely fictional, Thor has captured essential elements of current geopolitics and general Middle East tensions making for an eminently plausible tale. As usual, the writing is tight with excellent pacing.
Can not put it down so I'm on the last chapter and deciding what next to read. Scot Havath must be in the novel for I'm in the mood for more. Your style took me a while to stick to, since I was used to the great novels of Ludlum, Grisham up to the Partner, the best of Nelson DeMille (cannot beat his wit) but now that Vince Flynn is gone, and I've read all his novels over three times each since 2013 and stopped in 2016, I find you a fine author. The next two authors I buy will one of yours and one of the new-be Mark Gilleo, who has talent galore but back to the Foreign Agent, great fast page read and your competition is Twitter or I would have read all your novels by now, though I think I have read all the Harvath novels except your new one. Great fast page read without too much filler words.
