Revenge demands sacrifice. Don't miss this action-packed, jaw-dropping, dark and romantic sequel to Dire Bound.
CROWNED BY DESTINY. CONSUMED BY VENGEANCE.
Against all odds, Meryn Cooper has inherited the crown--and a deadly war. As the Kingdom of Nocturna splinters under the weight of generations of lies, it is up to Meryn, her bonded direwolf Anassa, and their allies to bring the country back from the brink.
But the commoners, the Bonded, and the nobles are distrustful of their new queen and Meryn is caught in a deadly game of politics. Meanwhile, Meryn's beloved younger sister, Saela, is more at risk than ever.
Confusingly, the one person Meryn can trust is Stark Therion--the dark, dangerous Alpha she thought hated her as much as she loathed him. Yet, his loyalty is unshakeable. His presence is intoxicating. And with his guidance, Meryn can seize an unthinkable level of power.
With enemies closing in and shadows stirring in her dreams, Meryn stands to lose her kingdom--and her heart.
Blood will spill. Bonds will break. Fate will be tested.

I had trouble getting into this at first but once it got going, it ran! I'm glad it went a different direction than I thought it would. Romantasy feels like it's gotten very copy and paste and predictable so I like when I don't see what's coming next. Good spice, good story, sometimes predictable but kept me entertained. Ready to see what comes next!
I went into this book with caution because I loved Dire Bound so much, and wasn’t sure how they would be able to top that!Well, they did! This book was so much more than I expected and in the best possible ways!! Stark is dreamy! Meryn is the strong FMC we all love to see!! And the side characters take a life of their own!In book two of the Wolves of Ruin series, we see Meryn and her dire wolf Anassa come to terms with the betrayal at the end of Dire Bound and become the queen her people need her to be! But it will not be as easy as she would like for all of the bonded to accept her. While she does all she can to show her people that she is for them, she is also having to face an enemy that is stealing her power! She has to do all she can to save her kingdom!Stark is coming to terms with a tragedy of his own and a new role he is forced in to! He wants to fight with her and for her, and at the same time is trying to deny what he feels for her. His dire wolf, Cratos, is bonded to Anassa, which only makes it harder!Fury Bound took me on a wild ride! It had me on edge, made me giggle, made me swoon and had me shook!!! I highly recommend this series!!!
I was genuinely excited to read Fury Bound, ready to see Meryn finally claim her rightful throne and, most importantly, get Stark’s POV. (Yes, I am an absolute su.cker for dual POV.)I’ll start with the positives because, overall, this is not a terrible book. I’ve definitely read worse.Buckle up, it’s not very short. 🙊The world built is ambitious and the foundations built in the first book promised something great in the second book… and I kept waiting and waiting, but nothing came. The story completely loses focus somewhere along the way. What should have been a strong central conflict: Meryn vs Killian-Alistair/Astreona vs Nocturna, gets buried underneath endless side-plots, side-quests, repetitive interactions, and additional characters that simply do too little for me to truly care about them.We spend reading hundreds of pages building armies, bonded, councils, powers, political structures, and a war that supposedly shaped the world for centuries… only for the climax to narrow itself down to what essentially feels like three people handling everything while everyone else randomly disappears until it’s finished.I think the best way I can describe this book is: a story overflowing with ideas, but lacking enough control to make all of them land properly.Characters: (might contain spoilers///Read with caution)FMC - Meryn had all the ingredients to become an incredible fantasy FMC, which is exactly why her development frustrated me so much in this book. In Dire Wolves, she was stubborn, determined, emotionally strong, and willing to push forward no matter how many times she got rejected or knocked down. In Fury Bound, her characterization often feels inconsistent. The story constantly tells us she is strategic, important, and destined for greatness, yet instead of evolving naturally, most of the time she’s impulsive, and strangely disconnected from the weight of the role she is supposed to carry. And darn it, why is she so filthy all the time??!!MMC – Stark, built surprisingly nice in the first book: stoic, cold, calculated, with a soft layer underneath. And for a while he seemed to be doing good in the second book as well. But then, instead of deepening him, his POV becomes repetitive and heavily centered around same thoughts. The authors wrote him down 🥲Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m an absolute smut lover, but after the way Stark was built in the first book, I expected more from his POV. At first, I was excited, but then his yearning was mostly lust driven and mixed endless, repetitive dialogue… It became tiering.Guys, he was supposed to become my new shadow daddy… 😔Some side characters actually had potential, they were developed and then abandoned…Lucian - For a king who has lived for thousands of years and has been at war for centuries, choosing “nursing a transition” over finally confronting the brother who started everything felt absurd to me. And despite his age and supposed intelligence, 80% of the time he behaves like a spoiled frat-boy with unresolved anger issues. Which is frustrating because the chemistry and tension surrounding his character actually had huge potential.Alpha Egith - Introduced as important, then disappears from most of the important stuff that happens in the book.Sovereign Alpha – Only god knows what she is doing or what she decides, but she loses in the end.Noemi - I am still trying to figure her out 🫠. I understand her background story and implications, but her having the last action in the war that has consumed so many, felt a bit exaggerated. Apart from her dragging out some of Meryn’s reactions, I think she is given too much importance in the book tbh.The ending… Instead of delivering satisfying payoff and clarity, it introduces yet another layer of confusion and withheld information. It shifts the story from political intrigue and wolf-bonds to abstract magical nonsense. Not sure I will continue the series, especially since it’s not KU anymore. ☺️
Thank you Sable Sorensen and Requited for this advanced copy!Just finished reading and I am reeling! The second book exceeded all expectations! Whether you're a fan of the Wolves of Ruin series or new here, Fury Bound is an absolute must read.✨”Who did this to you”✨ Feminine Rage✨ Shadow Mommy✨ Found FamilyThe world and plot expanded so much in Fury Bound and it is an addicting adventure. There was never one slow part and yet none of it was overwhelming. The twists that were sprinkled throughout got me almost every time. Especially that ending; I need to know what is going to happen next asap!I was cheering Meryn on the whole time and I really enjoyed seeing her grow as an FMC. I loved how she is able to embrace her pain and anger and come out stronger instead of letting it be a weakness. I was also living for Stark’s growth throughout the book. To see some of his walls lower and getting more of an inside look to his whys. Also the spicy we get in book two… chefs kiss! I was glad to continue developing previous friendships from the first book and loved the introduction of new characters. Shout out to Noemi and the new mystery man!I’m so excited to continue this series in book 3!!
Fury Bound picks up immediately where the first book leaves off and I was hooked all over again. Meryn Sturmfrost starts this story as a chaotic mix of part commoner, part Bonded, and part queen and honestly, she is a whole mess. Then there is Stark Therion. We finally get to see depths of him that were hidden before and I absolutely ate. It. Up. I also loved watching Meryn’s relationship with her bonded direwolf, Anassa, grow and deepen in this installment. And Cratos? I think I kind of love him too. You wouldn’t think a vicious wolf could have such a fun, snarky side but that’s because you haven’t met Cratos yet.The writing is strong and I really appreciated all the little reminders the authors dropped in to refresh my memory on details from the previous book without making it feel repetitive. This story is incredibly fast paced with action that might slow down occasionally but never truly stops. It kept me glued to the pages as Meryn dealt with one hit after another. There are plenty of surprises throughout the plot and definitely a gut punch or two. Some I liked and some, especially where family was concerned, I didn’t. Some of the revelations were expected while others caught me a little off guard. It comes as no surprise that some things the Nocturnans thought they knew, they didn’t and I loved uncovering all of that especially concerning the Astreonans.I really thought the relationship between Meryn and Stark would be less contentious this time around, but they were quite frustrating in the beginning. Thankfully, the romance does FINALLY come, and I was overjoyed to soak in all the good stuff once they got there.Beyond Meryn and Stark, there are other great characters in this book. Some we know and love and others we know and loathe. (Here’s looking at you, Jonah.) We also meet new players like Lucien and Noemi that shake things up. I was oh so invested in all of these relationships and the shifting alliances. All in all, I truly love this cast of characters even if I love to hate them.Without giving away spoilers, I did have a few lingering questions that kept this from being a five-star read. I’m still curious about the exact nature of the link between Stark and Meryn, and I felt like some subplots lacked closure. For instance, Lucien and Meryn separate before the big battle and we don’t see him again for the rest of the book, which left me wondering if he and his entourage made it back safely. And Jonah? I need answers there. I also had some minor issues with the number of characters who ended up in a similar predicament by the final chapters since it felt like a lot of people were being forced down the same path. At times, I also think the authors leaned a little too hard into making Meryn selfless and it was a bit irritating. And then there’s the big showdown. It played out so quickly that it felt slightly anticlimactic. And while my criticisms clearly reveal that there are loose ends, this book absolutely kept me invested from beginning to end. Just when you think things are settling, the authors pull the rug out from under you once again. So, at the end of this one, I’m still clamoring for more of the Wolves of Ruin. Will I continue this series? Without a doubt! This is a great read for any romantasy lovers looking for a fast paced and thrilling ride.
