Anna's Christmas Eve To Do List:
1. Wrap the kids' presents
2. Peel the potatoes
3. Get rid of the dead body?!
Hungover and exhausted after her family's annual party, all Anna Johnson wants for Christmas is to finish her to-do list and finally sit down with the world's biggest glass of wine.
But when she stumbles across a dead body in her larder, her plans are well and truly buggered.
A mysterious death in her home really is the last thing she needs, but with her judgemental in-laws arriving in less than twenty-four hours, turning her house into a crime scene is not an option. If she's going to save Christmas, it's up to Anna to find out what the hell's gone on. Oh - and figure out what to do with the body before one of the kids finds it.
And you thought burning the turkey was the worst that could happen...

Really enjoyed reading this book. It had everything, mysteries, laugh out loud moments and (apart from the murder) reminded me of most people’s build up to Christmas . Thoroughly recommend
This book looks like a good read.
Absolutely loved this book! Such an easy read, relatable with home life and the humour just topped it off! Mixing humour with murder to a new level! Very well done, Jo! Fantastic book
Anna is exhausted and hungover to bootLast night’s Christmas party was quite a hootBut now it’s Christmas EveHer to do list is so long, she can’t believeThe last thing she needs - what will make her life harderIs the dead body she finds slumped over in her larderWith her in-laws coming for Christmas DayNow she must create the perfect table scape AND put a killer awayOk guys this book was AWESOME. I mean truly fabulous. I loved it. Gimme a holiday cheer filled murder any day. But add in some perfectly placed comedy? TAKE MY MONEY.This one delivered in spades. Our MC, Anna, is so concerned with making Christmas perfect, she’s rather lost touch with what makes Christmas so special. Her cynicism shines through the book. It frames everything she does. But, at the same time, she’s self aware. So instead of her cynicism being, well, exhausting, it’s just hilarious. And her growth (really just her finding the happiness in Christmas again…through solving a murder…) is a nice touch. The audio for this was a delight. This story is precisely what I needed to carry me through the post-holiday blues. There is a second book in the series coming out and I am BEYOND excited for it! I’ll be first in line to listen.
I got this book as it was on a 99p Kindle deal and looked like a fun read over the Christmas period. I wasn’t expecting much from it but I was pleasantly surprised.Anna is hungover after a party and stumbles to her larder to find a body. The police are pretty hopeless so Anna, her best friend, and husband start sleuthing to try and find out who the murderer is.This is an easy read with good characters, I was surprised at how much I warmed to (most!) of them. The plot isn’t the most realistic but the book is relatable and funny and had more substance than I expected.I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a funny murder mystery to read over Christmas time.3.5 stars rounded to 4.
