The high-stakes sequel to Thieves' Gambit, for fans of Jennifer Lynn Barnes and Ally Carter.
It's been six months since the end of the Gambit. Instead of winning an impossible wish, Ross has the threat of her family's execution hanging over her head. Devroe, the only person Ross thought she could trust, could wish the Quests into oblivion at any time. Shockingly, despite his betrayal, Devroe is still making a play for Ross's heart as the two work together pulling jobs for the Organization. But Ross has learned her lesson: A Quest can only trust another Quest.
When Ross finds herself at the center of a power struggle within the Organization, she sees her chance to change her fortunes. As a new deadly Gambit develops for control of the criminal underworld, Ross strikes a risky deal to guarantee protection for herself and her family.
In this final clash, Ross will square off against a ruthless opponent who will stop at nothing to seize power, and in their corner will be not only Devroe but his mother, who wants to destroy the Quests at any cost.
The new Gambit takes Ross and her crew into the intoxicating casinos of Monte Carlo and across treacherous snow-covered slopes in Antarctica as Ross competes against Devroe in a fight for her life. Loyalties will be tested, backs stabbed, hearts broken. May the best thief win.

Awesome second book in series
My daughter loves this book, couldn't put it down
I enjoyed this one a little more than the first one. I was annoyed a little at the twist at the end and I was hoping for a little more development. I was pleased to see that in the sequel, the characters grew nicely, and the conclusion was a satisfying end to their stories.I like that all of the characters I enjoyed from the first book are back but on different teams. That added some interesting stakes and interest to how the characters were interacting with each other. I enjoyed the heists more in this book than I did in the first one. They’re interesting and different, and I enjoyed the stakes that they had to them. That said, this book certainly had its flaws. Ross kept making stupid decisions that didn’t seem to have much reason other than the plot needed to carry forward so she needed to be an idiot. I know she’s dealing with how to handle betrayal, but I was often annoyed at how she treated her friends. The chemistry between Ross and Devroe also felt a little bit off sometimes. I’m not completely sure how she got past the betrayal, and their relationship occasionally felt forced except for the fact that he really, really wanted it.Overall, I enjoyed the characters and dynamics and think most people who enjoyed the first book will enjoy the sequel.
This is a YA book that is about discovering who you want to be in a high stake's environment. The first book was very hunger games-esque, but this book reminded me a lot of the movie 'Now You See Me' or 'Oceans 11' Not only are we trying to steal and compete, but the longest heist takes place in a casino and they're simultaneously competing against a second team. Each team is competing for a specific leading to be in control of the organization at the end, which one is better, truly who knows? There is some romance interspersed with the action, but all in all I felt as though this book was lacking compared to the first book and I was not as interested in the beginning or drawn in as I was with the first book.
More heists and more fun in this thrilling second book. This was as fun as the first book and I love the bigger stake heists and getting insight into what happened between Ross and devroes moms back in the day. It kept me entertained the entire book and the romance was super cute as well. Would love another book for Ross and devroe and maybe about the other characters.
