“Ready a tall tankard of mead and brace yourself for a culinary journey to match any quest!”—Tom Morello, Rage Against the Machine
From the D&D experts behind Dungeons & Dragons Art & Arcana comes a cookbook that invites fantasy lovers to celebrate the unique culinary creations and traditions of their favorite fictional cultures. With this book, you can prepare dishes delicate enough to dine like elves and their drow cousins or hearty enough to feast like a dwarven clan or an orcish horde. All eighty dishes—developed by a professional chef—are delicious, easy to prepare, and composed of wholesome ingredients readily found in our world.
Heroes’ Feast includes recipes for snacking, such as Elven Bread, Iron Rations, savory Hand Pies, and Orc Bacon, as well as hearty vegetarian, meaty, and fish mains, such as Amphail Braised Beef, Hommlet Golden Brown Roasted Turkey, Drow Mushroom Steaks, and Pan-Fried Knucklehead Trout—all which pair perfectly with a side of Otik’s famous fried spiced potatoes. There are also featured desserts and cocktails—such as Heartlands Rose Apple and Blackberry Pie, Trolltide Candied Apples, Evermead, Potion of Restoration, and Goodberry Blend—and everything in between, to satisfy a craving for any adventure.

My wife and I watch the show where they do many of these recipes. The book is really artwork holding great recipes. We just made the travelers stew and it was delicious. Well worth the money.
My adult son is a huge Dungeons & Dragons fan and he loved this book. Heroes' Feast is full of fun recipes, great pictures, and cool D&D stories that make you feel like you are eating in a fantasy world. The directions are easy to follow, the food tastes amazing, and it is just a really fun cookbook to have. You do not need to know anything about D&D to enjoy it, but if you do, it makes it even better. This has become one of our favorite books in the kitchen.
It's a fun book with good simple recipes. A few of them have a twist or a flare. I made travelers stew and iron rations for dinner and the d&d group loved it. It's worth mentioning that most of the recipes are twists or even direct copies of standard recipes you would find in a cookbook like The Joy of cooking. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I was hoping for a higher level of innovation in the cooking. For example some of the recipes were just d&d type names with a normal recipe. That said the book was definitely well made beautifully illustrated and fun to read.
We looked at this book in a retail store at twice the price of what we paid on Amazon. The child was very happy to receive it as a gift and my wallet is happy, too.
This was a gift for a huge D&D fan, and he absolutely LOVED it! The recipe book is filled with incredible dishes for both carnivores and vegetarians alike. His favorite part? The many era-inspired meals that truly immerse you in the Dungeons & Dragons experience. This cookbook is sure to become a staple in our home—we’re excited to feast D&D-style during our game nights from now on!
