#1 New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brad Thor returns with his hottest and most action-packed thriller yet!
The most secretive organization in America operates without accountability to the American people. Hiding in the shadows, pretending to be part of the United States Government, its power is beyond measure.
Control of this organization has just been lost and the future of the nation has been thrust into peril.
When the five candidates being considered to head this mysterious agency suddenly go missing, covert counter-terrorism operative, Scot Harvath is summoned to Washington and set loose on the most dangerous chase ever to play out on American soil.
But as the candidates begin turning up murdered, the chase becomes an all-too-public spectacle with every indicator suggesting that the plot has its roots in a shadowy American cabal founded in the 1700s.
With the United States on the verge of collapse, Harvath must untangle a web of conspiracy centuries in the making and head off the greatest threat America has ever seen.
This is thriller writing at its absolute best where the stakes have never been higher, nor the line between good and evil so hard to discern.

Losing Vince Flynn was a sad and hard blow to my "favorite authors' short list" and I am hoping this will only be one in a long list of best sellers from the illustrious Mr. Brad Thor. His books continue to be believable, exciting, an imbued with a love for our USA and those who protect and serve her. As always, excitement and a breakneck pace that only allows us to know the characters even more intimately. I look forward to many more books from an author I have always felt was a peer to Vince Flynn and now with his untimely death, one of a handful of authors able to carry on in a manner that will help ease the pain of losing one of the best of the genre and one of my favorite authors. Keep the bestsellers coming, Mr. Thor, for many long years to come and I feel certain you will continue to delight not only your own legion of fans but many of Mr. Lynn's who will find their way to your writings....Another one that makes me " proud to be an American"....Thank you again, Mr. Brad Thor... you are appreciated very much. From a fan of both your work and the late Vince Flynn.
This book really deserves a split rating, depending on your perspective. On the one hand, if you already know we keep aliens in Area 51 (Roswell, New Mexico); that we faked the moon landing; or, that FEMA is operating “death camps,” then you will LOVE LOVE this book. This book is a “must read” for you.SPOILER ALERT!!! In the first quarter of the book, Mr. Thor pulls back the curtain on the Federal Reserve Board and explains its history and true purpose. Mr. Thor uses the clever literary device of having this all revealed to Scot Harvath by a senior Fed official in a lengthy monolog. I found this portion of the book to be particularly enlightening. As a side note, I’ll confess that I have been to a number of meetings at the “Fed” (and I once sat next to Alan Greenspan during lunch in the White House “mess”) so, unlike many readers, I already knew that the Federal Reserve was not a Federal prison system. However, even I was surprised to learn that the Federal Reserve Board really is part of a depraved scheme designed for the benefit of “elite” bankers at the expense of ordinary Joes like you and me. And, if you follow the money, I am sure that the Illuminati or UN also are involved. This early part of this book made me cringe to think I was so close to those people. We should all thank Mr. Thor for opening our eyes.On the other hand, if you rely on the MSM for your news, or know anything about the financial system in this country: stay away - this book is not for you. You probably aren’t smart enough to recognize the ugly truth if it hit you in the face. So, Mr. Thor’s revelation probably is wasted on you: like pearls before swine. No matter what your political perspective may be, I think all will agree that Mr. Thor’s book is a good value - in terms of the quality and number of words you get for your money. But, but if you are like me, and many of his readers, one of the things that you may have enjoyed most about Mr. Thor’s past few books is that he generously shares his political views (thank God he had the prescience to warn all of us about the Muslims and Mexicans). Maybe I am just not trusting enough, but I did ask myself: if his story IS TRUE, then why didn't "they" eliminate him before or after he revealed their secret scheme? If his story IS NOT TRUE, then who benefits most from undermining confidence in our financial system?Note: I was very disappointed that an urgent matter forced me to put the book down during Mr. Thor’s discourse on the Fed. But, I plan to pick it up again just as soon as I finish my scrap booking. At that time, I may update this review.Seriously, I had enjoyed Thor’s earlier books. More recently, he has been injecting a large dose of his "alt-right" political views into his books. After reading earlier reader reviews, I find it very sad that some reviewers obviously believed that the tortured overview of the Fed in this book is real. I put the book down because it was simply too stupid. I won’t be reading any more of his books.
I am a huge Brad Thor's fan, but this book was by far the biggest letdown. Why? The book lacked the terrorists actions characteristics of Harvath. He has always been like Mitch Rapp of Vince Flynn, but in this book he lacked decision maker, a problem solver; rather, he followed whatever the local female cop was suggesting. He had a good social time in Boston, and as his boss, the "Old Man" was correct characterizing him as lack of executioner. I really love Thor's Harvath when he performs as a tactical operative, a cold killer like Rapp. The other problem with this book, it has too many characters doing different things that it was hard to follow and what they were trying to achieve, for example Ryan and McGee. I was confused. At the end I did not know what they were doing, why, and who was the final culprit. And, Harvath was just having coffee latte with his police female friend. He could not pick a clue. For example, while he sat in the back seat of Sal's car, he did not figure out something was wrong with the drum next to his seat in the car. Frustrated, I did not read book epilogue and started reading a book of Vince Flynn. By all means, Brad Thor is a great fiction writer, and I know his next book will have 5 stars. I am looking forward to it.Thank you,Joseph
I have enjoyed all of these books so far. This one was no exception. It was action packed, and a great story with lots of American history, which I enjoy. The only problem I had with it was near the end when the author was tying the twist all together. At that point I lost track of who had done what, so i missed it. The reason, in my opinion, was there were just way too many characters to keep track of them all. I considered going back and trying to figure out what I had missed, but if I have to go back and look up all of the characters' roles again when i am near the end of the book, that would just ruin it. Instead I chose to let it go. It was still a good end with lots of edge-of-your-seat action, but I think it could have been great if I didn't have to spend so much time trying to remember who had done what among a bunch of characters who had minor roles earlier in the book. Had it not been for that, I may have thought this ws the best book yet in the series. Instead I am feeling slightly disappointed. This is the first time since I began reading these books that this has happened, and it my have been on my end because of distractions. Regardless, I look forward to the next book
Yesterday, I finished Brad Thor’s novel, “Hidden Order,” the 13th installment in his Scot Harvath series. I think it may be his best story yet. I liked “Hidden Order,” so much I thought it deserved a review. As an author, I’ve been a fan of Brad Thor’s work for many years. I like his stories because he has chosen to expose, “Political Correctness,” for what it is - a leftist ploy to turn all Americans into non-thinking, well-heeled pets of the political class - AKA, the Clintons. I write historical fiction. Thus, the historical segments he inserts into his thrillers appeals to my desire to tell history, accurately – not the revisionist distortions offered by the Federal government’s one-size-fits-all, “Common Core Curriculum.”From a writer’s perspective, Thor did a superb job of weaving a substantially significant subplot into the main theme. Usually, I can figure out who the main, mysterious antagonist is; but Thor surprised me. “Hidden Order” is blockbuster-movie material. However, it will never see the silver screen, because the left controlled Hollywood would rather see Brad Thor eliminated than promote one of his masterpieces. Personally, I can’t wait to read his next book, “Act of War.”
