best book!!!

I have a Read several books by Colleen Hoover. I’ve loved them all. I’ve read the will and layken series, Those were great books. I read it ends with us, and that is great. Also, it starts with us. But this book, the first in the hopeless series was the best book I have ever read By Colleen Hoover. It wasn’t a psychological thriller like verity, it was a love story, but it had so many twists and turns and so many emotional pulls. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series and I want to thank Colleen Hoover for the endless hours of entertainment that are her books.

Absolutely unforgettable

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover is the kind of book that grabs hold of your heart and doesn’t let go. I went in expecting an emotional romance and came out completely shattered—in the best way. The story unfolds with so much depth, raw honesty, and heart-wrenching intensity that I couldn’t put it down. Sky and Holder’s connection is electric, but what truly sets this book apart is the way it handles trauma, healing, and forgiveness with such care and power. It’s beautifully written, heartbreakingly real, and stays with you long after the final page. I laughed, cried, and held my breath more times than I can count. Easily one of my favorite Colleen Hoover books. If you haven’t read Hopeless yet—read it. Just be ready to feel everything.

This Book Will Ruin You in the Best Way

I think I'm a little hopeless after reading this gorgeous story. There's something about Colleen Hoover's characters that just wows me every time. They're so perfectly broken & beautiful. All the imperfect cracks are what let the light in.I love the attraction between Sky & Holder. Their relationship is really something to watch. They infuriate each other in the best way but once they allow their attraction to grow more intense, they completely ruin each other for anyone else. I think Holder has wisdom beyond his years after all that he's been through. His maturity transcends what you would see in the average 18-year-old. I also think the way he loves Sky has a lot to do with it. I remember when I was in college, falling in love with my now husband, the moment I realized I truly loved him was the moment I realized I cared more about him than I did about myself. Selfishness in teenagers runs rampant. Because Holder wants more for Sky than he does for himself, it really boosts his maturity. I often had to remind myself while reading the book that he was only 18.I also find it sweet that he kind of lied to her. I know that sounds weird, but he really wanted to protect her. He knew that truth about her past would destroy her & he tried to shield her from that for as long as he possibly could giving her the most good days before her life would be turned upside down. It was noble in a way.Praise God for Colleen Hoover & her stunning male protagonists! She's slowly ruining me for real life. ;)

SOOOOO GOOD!!!

Just wow! This book blew me away. It had all the twists and turns you would expect from a COHO book! I loved the story of Dean and Sky. Sky is a girl living with her mother, Karen, who had adopted her from a young age. Sky is not allowed to have any form of technology, her mother does not believe in it. She has also always been homeschooled until this year. Sky runs into Dean Holder in the grocery store one day, where he chases her down in the parking lot, claiming to know her from somewhere. She then bumps into him while running, and their connection grows. He quickly becomes someone she wants to spend all her time with. However, he has some strange sides to his personality that sort of scare her. Such as, one time he notices her bracelet she is wearing and demands she tell him who gave it to her. When she doesn't, he storms off and they don't talk for a month. She eventually goes and visits Dean's house, where she sees an old picture, and realizes that they knew each other when they were just kids. She finds out that Dean and his sister, Leslie, were her next-door neighbors when she was a kid. Dean says that one day she was sitting outside crying and he came out to comfort her. The next thing he knows, a car pulls up, she gets in the car, and leaves. He then tells Sky that she has been missing for 13 years. This throws a huge plot twist in the story, because up until now, Sky has thought she was adopted by Karen because her father did not want her. She gets very angry and goes home and packs all her stuff and tells Karen she needs time to think. Her and Dean go stay in a hotel in the town where Sky's father lives. They drive past her old house because she is hoping that seeing it will spark some memories. However, once in front of it, she realizes she needs to go inside to see if she can spark any memories from her childhood. Once inside, she goes to her old bedroom and decides to lay down on her bed. It is then, that she is flooded with flashbacks from her childhood where her dad would come home from work and bring her a gift. However, he always wanted her to "thank" him for this gift. She would cry every time he pulled her gown back down. She becomes enraged and starts throwing everything in the bedroom and Dean has to intervene and get her out of there. They go back to their hotel and she demands to return the next day. When they return the next day, her father is just getting home from work. Seeing him sparks her need for him to answer if he is doing this to other young girls. She jumps out of the car and soon after her father recognizes her. They go inside to discuss everything and he admits to raping her due to a drinking problem after Sky (Hope) mom dies. When Karen took Sky, he then took to raping Dean's sister, Leslie. Dean becomes sad at hearing this. Sky's father apologizes and shoots himself. They return to their hotel to wash off the blood. The next morning, Karen's boyfriend, Jack, calls Dean telling him that Karen confessed everything to Jack and that she really needs to talk to Sky. They go. Karen then proceeds to tell her that when she was 14, her 23-year old brother had to take care of her due to both of her parents being dead. He used to physically hit her when he got mad. One night, though, he got so mad that he raped her. He did this for 2 years straight. It is then, that Sky figures out that Karen's brother is her father. Karen says that she was in the grocery store one day and hears her brother's familiar voice talking to a little girl, and that is when she saw Sky. She saw the same hopeless fearful look in her eyes that Karen once had, and it was then she knew he was doing the same things to Sky. Karen planned it out for how she would get Sky out of the situation. She tried multiple times to report it, but because Sky's dad was in law enforcement, the cases always got dismissed. So, she took her that evening. She figured as long as she could keep her safe until she was 18, and wouldn't have to be taken back to her father, that she would endure whatever consequences came of Sky finding out what happened. However, Sky realizes what sacrifices Karen has made for her and decides to move past it. I CAN NOT GET OVER HOW GOOD THIS BOOK WAS!! The twists were just insane!!!!! Can't wait to start Losing Hope now!!!

LOVED this book!

“Whatever this is, I don’t want to analyze it. I don’t want you analyzing it either, okay? Let’s just be grateful I finally found you.”I laugh at his last sentence. “You say that like you’ve been looking for me.”He furrows his brows together and places his hands on the sides of my head, tilting my face up to his. “I’ve been looking for you my whole damn life.”Wow! After that one I definitely need a "chapter break"! Usually when I love a book I find it easy to write a review because I can just gush about everything I loved, but with this book it’s because of the fact that I loved it so much that I am having trouble reviewing it. I know that whatever I come up with here will never do the book justice, I don’t think I have the appropriate words in my vocabulary to appropriately express how awesome this book was. Colleen Hoover never ceases to amaze me, I’ve loved all of her books, her unique storylines and endearing characters will suck you in, make your heart race and leave you breathless. This book was no exception, it was sweet, funny, poignant, heartbreaking and heartwarming. It’ll definitely hit you right in the feels and at times weigh heavily on your heart. The book dealt with some very heavy topics that’ll break your heart over and over, but there was just enough humor injected at just the right moments to help balance it out. It truly was a wonderful book about losing yourself and discovering the strength to find yourself again. So I can’t really say too much about what the story is about because there are a lot of surprises that I wouldn’t want to spoil. There were some things I started to piece together as I went along but there were a few things that totally blindsided me. Basically we have Sky who is your pretty typical seventeen year old girl in that she loves hanging with her friend Six, is thinking about college and sneaking boys into her room to make out. At the same time she is pretty atypical because she’s lived a very sheltered life with no access to technology (no TV, no phone, no internet) and has been homeschooled up until her senior year of high school where she begged to finally go to public school. She also has trouble feeling anything with any of the boys she sneaks in to her room. That is until she sets her eyes on Dean Holder, rumored bad boy and completely hot. Their first meeting is equal parts thrilling and terrifying as his intensity is a little overwhelming. But she realizes that he makes her feel things she’s never felt before and that there is a lot more to Holder than it seems. As things develop between them, secrets from Sky’s past begin to come to light and there’s a major bombshell that is dropped that will shake her existence to its core.“Let me inform you of something,” he says in a low voice. “The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because if you’ve never felt anything when someone’s kissed you, then no one’s ever really kissed you. Not the way I plan on kissing you.”Holder was AMAZING! He was seriously intense but incredibly sweet and had a heart of gold. He will make you swoon over and over. As you unravel the mystery surrounding him and his past, your heart will break. But the way he was there to help and protect Sky as her world crumbled, was so awesome. I loved their connection, it was so deep and emotional and I don’t think I’ve ever read a love scene that was more heartbreaking than their first time but at the same time so incredibly powerful. And holy wow, they definitely had the hottest non-kiss in the history of non-kisses. You have to read it to see what I mean! I also loved the banter and sarcasm between the two, his ego-deflating texts to Sky were my favorite.“You don’t deserve words, Sky. You deserve actions.”Sky was pretty incredible too. I loved experiencing the story through her eyes. I was right there with her so many times as she reacted to all of the craziness that was being thrown at her. I felt the same confusion and despair and got the same butterflies she did when Holder would do something amazing. I admired her strength throughout all of this, it would have been very easy for her to crumble under the circumstances but she was so strong and I know Holder said this to her a few times, but I was so proud of her.“I live you, Sky,” he says against my lips. “I live you so much.”I could ramble on and on about the book, but like I said earlier I know that I’m nowhere near doing it justice. This is a book that you really just need to read and experience for yourself. As with any of Colleen Hoover’s books, every word is so purposeful that you really have to sit back and take it all in. You’re going to want to read it fast to find out what happens next, but trust me that this is one that should be savored! It’ll find its way into your heart and will be one that you’ll think of again and again. This is a MUST read!“F all the firsts, Sky. The only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers.”
