House of Beating Wings

Confusing in the beginning because of the total onslaught of information and strange words, but it gets better in the last 2/3 of the book. Excited to start the next. Enjoy this authors style quite a bit.

It is hard for me to find an author whose writing not only pulls me in but keeps me there. Although some of the aspects that are in this story isn't really what I read normally, I'm SO glad I got it anyways.I'm not going to rewrite the synopsis, that's easy to get from her books webpage. With that said, here is what I am going to say about this book/series .. I love the way this story gets you from the beginning and just keeps building. There isn't a place in this story where I thought something didn't fit together or was cringe worthy. It really was put together well. There is intrigue, a lot of action, a lot of guessing, spots that will get you angry for the characters, some surprises and so much more. I will say, I am not a huge fan of cliff hangers. However, as luck would have it, the 2nd and 3rd books were already out by the time I got this book. So, BONUS. There are also books 4 & 5 out as well.I'm not a huge reader of stories that involve birds. Yet, the build up with this story was what really got me to start liking the birds concept. Not to mention, her descriptions of the characters gave me the ability to not only picture them clearly in my mind, but also her descriptions on the actions/journey they take throughout the story, pulled me in so good that it gave me the opportunity to escape into another world and away from my life of hardships for a nice little while.I highly recommend you getting this book/series. Even if you aren't into stories that are Fae based, you may just change your mind after reading this story.Because of this book and how the author delivered the story, I got books 2 & 3 right away. I also bought and read her book called "The Dark Beauty" and I have been dying to get ahold of her 2nd book that was suppose to be out as well. Until then, I look forward to getting into her other series as soon as I can.

This one is an infinity star 💫 read.Not only is the story captivating, the characters, deep, strong yet flawed, captivating and “real”, the writing is beautiful.This book and the series to come is absolutely EXQUISITE and a joy and pleasure to read it’s written so well with the pacing and dialogue.The world building is masterfully done and lush. This book shows and doesn’t tell. The FMC is so well written you really feel like YOU are HER and this is happening to you and around you. It’s immersive.It has a fantastic plot that doesn’t drag yet has unpredictable twists and turns you don’t see coming, so when the character is shocked, you are shocked. You will laugh, cry, and get angry right along with Fallon. It’s not a typical Romantasy trope, but more a story of first love, false loves, lost loves, true loves and fated loves that feel realistic even though it’s an epic fantasy and Romantasy.This one is also not spicy, maybe a tiny bit of 🫑, but I have a feeling, when it does get spicy it’s going to 🌶️ 🔥.And did I mention that the writing is just this beautiful, decadent, luxurious, soul sparking, joy to read?Trust me, with as much as I read, I read good, I read bad, I read meh, I read complicated, I read complex and deep, I read all sorts of writing and writing styles. But reading this was like enveloping my mind in satiny and silky waves of decadent chocolate or wine for the mind. It’s just truly BEAUTIFUL! The dialogue, the prose, the descriptive, the languages, the terminology and phrasing, the pacing even when it’s frenetic or sedate, it’s just truly amazingly beautiful and a pure pleasure and joy for my mind and heart to read.This is the first book of Olivia Wildenstein’s I’ve read and iys joining my favorites right next to Jordan, Sanderson, McPhail, Maas, Yaros, The Twisted Sisters, Goodkind, Erickson and Estes.I do need to get the trophy 🏆 books 📕 for my bookshelf, but I have them on my wishlist.

As soon as I read through a few chapters I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. Fascinating read and good writing.

10 out of 10 recommend! Its such a good book, I couldn't put it down, can't wait to get start on the next!!
