Cute story about little llama missing his mama at school (very relevant for a lot of young kids, including mine). Knocked off a star because it uses the word “hate” (“llama llama hates that book”). We don’t use that word with our young son, so we just edit the text aloud as we read, but they easily could have used “llama doesn’t like that book” or something similar. It seems like unnecessarily strong language for a book catered to toddlers and little kids.
This is a wonderful book when toddler is struggle with separation. We reference and re read this book in times they separation is difficult and allows connection that everyone has difficulty at times with separation fromTheir loved ones and reminds themThey always come back
Great addition to my toddlers library! Beautiful illustrations and message. I thought this would be more about missing mama, which it is, but it’s about starting school and missing mama.
Llama Llama Misses Mama is such a delightful and comforting read for young children. The story beautifully captures the emotions of a little llama facing the challenges of starting school and being away from his mama for the first time. The rhymes are engaging, the illustrations are vibrant and full of expression, and the storyline is easy for kids to relate to.What I love most is the gentle way it reassures children that even when apart, their loved ones will always come back. It sparked a great conversation with my child about their own feelings, and they ask to read it again and again. This book is a must-have for any young reader’s collection, especially for kids adjusting to new routines. Five stars for its charm, relatability, and important message!
A very good quality book that kids enjoy and learn from.
