Instant New York Times bestseller
The actress, activist, and once infamous Playboy Playmate reclaims the narrative of her life in a memoir that defies expectation in both content and approach, blending searing prose with snippets of original poetry.
"The iconic Anderson uses a mixture of poetry and prose to present an impressionistic view of a fascinating life."--Booklist (starred review)
In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her.
Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy's favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality. But what happens when you lose grip on your own life--and the image the notoriety machine creates for you is not who you really are?
Growing up on Vancouver Island, the daughter of young, wild, and unprepared parents, Pamela Anderson's childhood was not easy, but it allowed her to create her own world--surrounded by nature and imaginary friends. When she overcame her deep shyness and grew into herself, she fell into a life on the cover of magazines, the beaches of Malibu, the sets of movies and talk shows, the arms of rockstars, the coveted scene at the Playboy Mansion. And as her star rose, she found herself tabloid fodder, at the height of an era when paparazzi tactics were bent on capturing a celebrity's most intimate, and sometimes weakest moments. This is when Pamela Anderson lost control of her own narrative, hurt by the media and fearful of the public's perception of who she was...and who she wasn't.
Fighting back with a sense of grace, fueled by a love of art and literature, and driven by a devotion to her children and the causes she cares about most, Pamela Anderson has now gone back to the island where she grew up, after a memorable run starring as Roxie in Chicago on Broadway, reclaiming her free spirit but also standing firm as a strong, creative, confident woman.

Disappointing. I thought since Pamela stopped wearing makeup this book would be more enlightened. Signing a son up for the Playboy club? Not a great thing.I kept waiting to hear about regrets, but no. I am glad she stopped picking loser husbands. Some of her rambling about famous people she has met comes across as name dropping. So what!Describing the Playboy mansion as a protective environment in this day and age is unreal. She was used by men that is for sure. Hopefully she wakes up to that fact.
Starts out great, humble & very hilarious but turns narcissistic. She diminishes herself by constantly name-dropping & she does some bragging which is in stark contrast to the first 1/3 of the book. Bragging & narcissism are always an instant turn-off for me. I enjoyed the descriptions of her childhood Canada & her time in France. I appreciated her humanitarian efforts. The thing that really struck me was this: how could someone who is this well-read make such bad personal decisions? It made me question the entire story & it's credibility.
What a wonderful read. She is smart and she can tell a riveting and sometimes sad story. I truly admire her. She deserves to be happy! You go girl!!
Love, Pamela is a 2023 memoir written by actress and model Pamela Anderson. It started as a book of poetry and turned into a memoir in which she talks about her evolution from a shy tomboy to the most famous pinup girl of the 1990s, who was the most popular character on the most watched show of the 1990s. In it, she details her life growing up in small Canadian towns, her discovery at a football game, which led to the start of her modeling career and led to her becoming the most famous Playboy Playmate in history, breaking into acting, and her complicated personal life that was constantly bombarded by paparazzi. The hardcover version of the book is relatively short at 240 pages and is a fairly quick read. Anderson does not hold a lot back in the book. She focuses on the behind-the-scenes aspects of her personal life more than her acting career (e.g., her time on Baywatch). Not that she does not discuss things people mostly know about, but she focuses more on things that were more private before she wrote this book. Ultimately, the book is an interesting read. Even though it is short, she discusses a lot about her life, and you can tell that there is a lot more to her than what some of her acting roles would suggest. It is not what I would call a must-read book, but if you grew up when she was massively popular, it is worth reading.
Great writing! I loved the stories she shared, as well as all the other juicy parts of her life. Wild times, for sure! I also loved the way she wove her poetry into her book. I do wish Pamela had included some pictures in her book. I'm sure she must have some innocuous pictures! I did like the full layout, on the inside of the back cover. Beautiful! I bought the book Pamela Anderson In Pictures, years ago! I recommend that book too.It took me a good long while to read this book. It was so good, I didn't want to finish it! I took my time reading it.I'm 59 and never had a wild life, or anything remotely similar to Pamela's party days, when I was younger. But I loved living vicariously through her crazy times! And she had many. She did a fabulous job rearing her sons. That was obvious, years ago, seeing them out with her. How they behave, how they act and carry themselves. Sure, we all raise a little hell and have fun, but you can tell, these two are well rounded adults. Both, very good looking adults - just like their parents. My only corrections with this book are: Page 121: Only females can give birth. Page 124: Only females can become pregnant. Stop this foolish verbiage! This was a wonderful book! Highly recommend.
