"Emma Rosenblum has become the queen of reads about wealthy East Coast women behaving badly, and her latest is no exception...It's silly and salacious, and it contained some twists at the end that were genuinely juicy." --Glamour
Meet Frost, Morgan, and Belle--a wealthy, gorgeous group of New York City moms, the queen bees of downtown Manhattan. Their children attend Atherton Academy, the top private school in the city, and their social lives revolve around elaborate themed parties. On the first day of school, the arrival of a new mom and mysterious beauty from Miami, Sofia, shakes up their world. When Sofia quickly integrates herself into their clique, inexplicably bad things start to happen to the women. Is someone at school out to get them?
Spanning the course of one eventful school year in New York, Mean Moms is part satire of upper-crust mom-ing and part mystery, interrogating the line between friendship and jealousy, and getting at the question:
What would happen if the woman standing next to you at school pickup was actually a sociopath?

Probably on of the worst books I’ve ever read. It’s like it was written by an eleven year old and was a complete waste of time and money. If you’re into immature, crappy writing…..go for it. You won’t be disappointed.I wish there was a minus STAR rating.
“Get in loser, we’re going shopping.” ~ Mean GirlsThis book reminds me of the drama from Mean Girls…the cliques, the threats, the unhealthy competition, and a figurative burn book mixed with high class adult society, manhattan’s (the town and drinks), loaded pockets, infidelity, posh cars, private schools, and social climbing. The queen bee moms are faced with pressure as a new mom named Sofia enters the scene. Sofia challenges the group’s passions, morals, and lifestyles. Some want to be like her and some accuse her of the strange happenings that seem to be following the women around. The threats become dirty and the reputations do too. Can the women work together to solve the mysteries or will their worlds and friendships be ripped apart? I enjoyed the characters and the humor that the group chat provides. I still think about that poor woman who moved away and would desperately ask to be removed from the private school chat.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The villain was truly a sociopath, and i would have liked for them to be safely locked away where they couldn't harm anyone or anything else. The friends dynamic was a pleasure, couldn't help but root for them. I also couldn't help but put Sofia Vergara in the role of Sofia Perez, she is a really fun character for whom to cheer ( how's that Jr high English teachers ). I will have to read other books by this author, glad I lucked on to this one as its not my usual fare.
For fans of: It’s Elementary, The Blonde Who Came in From the ColdGenre: 🔪MysteryRating: 🌕🌕🌕🌖Violence: 🪓Spice: 🔥🔥🔥TW: Eating disorders, infidelity, bullying, S&MPremise: The arrival of a new mom on the 1st day of school shakes things up for a clique of wealthy queen bees at Atherton Academy. But as increasingly unsettling incidents plague the trio—with new mom Sofia the only common denominator—the women can’t help but ask: have they invited a hornet into their midst?Thoughts: Talk about a page-turning, guilty beach read great for summer’s end. While characters you root for have their place, who doesn’t love a good “hate read” about the incredibly wealthy & inexhaustibly catty? It’s like Real Housewives but with a plot you actually care about & enough mystery to keep you 2nd guessing at culprits & motives. Rosenblum is crafty in structuring the novel so we experience all 4 women’s POVs, keeping us wondering who are the victims & who are the instigators when everyone has secrets they’ll go to great lengths to keep hidden. The resolution feels sudden, as I hoped it would build to higher stakes. But while the reveal isn’t a shocker, it surprises me with a few satisfying (if disturbing) twists. And I absolutely love the outcome for Sofia, Rosenblum’s self-proclaimed 1st likable character.
Funny book and easy read. It reminded me of the mean mom’s when my kids were growing up unfortunately even though they weren’t quite so crazy.
