Jodi Picoult, bestselling author of My Sister's Keeper and Small Great Things, pens her most riveting book yet with a startling and poignant story about the devastating aftermath of a small-town tragedy.

Sterling is an ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens--until the day its complacency is shattered by a school shooting. Josie Cormier, the daughter of the judge sitting on the case, should be the state's best witness, but she can't remember what happened before her very own eyes--or can she? As the trial progresses, fault lines between the high school and the adult community begin to show--destroying the closest of friendships and families. Nineteen Minutes asks what it means to be different in our society, who has the right to judge someone else, and whether anyone is ever really who they seem to be.

SHOULDN'T BE BANNED, SO GOOD!!

Love this book, it goes through each person who's involved and how it affects each of them. SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN BANNED!!!

couldnt connect on any level

couldnt connect with the characters. for me, it felt like the writing was juvenile. teens seemed stereotyped, and book dragged on. one reviewer said to stick with it “ it gets better” I couldnt hack it though. hats off to Jodi for addressing school shootings however.

Slice of life and death

In another superb novel, Jodi Picoult zeroes in on the tragedy of school shootings and the youth culture that gives rise to it. The truth is much more complex than that statement; Luckily delves into the intricacies of the adolescent psyche and the tragedies that may grow out of bullying. This is another emotionally difficult read, but well worth the struggle

Great book!

The book is based on the 19 minutes that happened before a school shooting. This book kept me glued until the last page! 😮

Kept me engaged.

Great book. I read it in 2 days despite it's length. It was slightly predictable as you knew something was going to change the course of the book as you expected it. Well worth the read, but not the best I've read this year or even the best I've read from Jodi Picoult.
