Page turner

I ordered this book on a whim but was not disappointed. The story moves fast, is suspenseful and character development is not over done. The story is thought provoking and demonstrates how power can run amuck.

a good read

Overall this is a pretty good thriller. I will do my best not to let out too many spoilers. The tension is high many times, almost too many because it kind of drags it out. I am surprised by how many risks he is either takes himself or is expected to take. Sometime it is predictable, but there are some unexpected twists. The climax is a little too pat. So much for “intelligence agencies”. This epilogue contains some surprises. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

Keeps the reader holding their breath

Well written. Fast paced. It was a very time worthy book based on what we know goes on in the Intelligence agencies.

Good but poor editing down the stretch

This book was a banger most of the way through, but the last 25% it seemed as if the editing really suffered. Sloppy logic, a typo (only one, but still) and the ending was poorly executed with clunky prose that was better in the first half. Some events were just unbelievable but I won’t mention any spoilers. Joseph Finder is a good writer, and clearly did his research, but this book was too long for its own good.
