An effervescent second chance romantic comedy about two former campers who reunite at their beloved sleepaway camp.
Clara Millen's life is spiraling out of control: her dream job is a nightmare, she's resoundingly single, and it's been years since she's taken time off. Thankfully, the last problem she can fix--this year she'll join her friends on their annual summer vacation to their beloved childhood sleepover camp for a much-needed escape.
But when Clara arrives at Pine Lake Camp, she faces yet another unwelcome change: the owners are retiring and selling the property. The news turns her plans for revelry into a night of reminiscing . . . and prompts a surprise heart-to-heart with Mack, her old camp nemesis and constant competitor, who's still just as annoying (and annoyingly handsome).
Soon the campfires aren't all that's throwing off sparks. And when one wildly passionate night turns into two (then too many to count!), Clara begins to wonder if she and Mack could have a future together. But when Clara's boss finally offers her everything she's worked so hard for, Clara will need to decide if the life she's always wanted is the life that makes her feel truly alive.

LOVED this book!! My inner summer camp kid turned hopeless romantic could picture every scene. So so good!
My favorite book of the summer. If you have ever worked at a summer camp, been to a summer camp or even thought about what it might be like - this book is for you. Great friends to lovers, spice 4/5 (explicit, on screen), with a great plot that makes you remember your childhood.
I love the premise of this story. I love the characters of this story. I love the scenery. I could almost picture the camp. Kate Spencer created a life, many lives that have grown since their time together, but never grown apart. I'll be thinking of Mack and Millen foe a while.
Some repetitive dialogue. A good message of believing in yourself. May be for young adults
This was a super cute book with all the great, campy summer vibes. Clara is put on forced leave from work and decides to head to her friends' annual summer get together at their childhood camp. A workaholic, Clara has not attended this event in years. She arrives to find a ton of changes, including the imminent selling of the camp itself. She has one final chance to reconnect with friends and former crushes. This was a good mix of escapism and real situations and feelings. Clara's inability to slow down and relax and take time for herself is something that many of us can relate to in this fast-paced world. Watching her figure out what she wants out of life was satisfying. I enjoyed her both her friends and cutie-pie, Mack. The banter and games were a lot of fun, bringing whimsy to what has the potential to be a final week of goodbyes. This was a fast read that kept me engaged the whole time. I definitely recommend to any romance lover! 3.5 stars
