The Decennial is over, but for the students of Blackwood Academy, the fight for the afterlife has just begun.
The infamous school was hiding more secrets--and lies--than any of the Decennial's participants could have imagined. And there's still so much that remains buried beneath its ancient foundations. Now the future of the academy, and all the souls within it, rests in the hands of six former pupils:
The charmer and the golden boy . . .
The traitor and the girl desperate to save her . . .
The Chosen One and the one who would choose her over and over again . . .
Any of them could be the hero the afterlife needs . . . or the villain who will destroy it for good. Because the truth is, Blackwood's biggest secret has yet to come to light--and when it does, it will shake the institution to its core.

Great read.
That I gave it a 5 star review
n this sequel to Immortal Consequences, the story picks up with the original six main characters and their very different views on how to save the afterlife. Loyalties shift, friends get separated, and in the end, who will prevail? Silas, The Souless One, or the True Headmaster? It’s anyone’s guess.I would rate this book 4.5 stars; the ending is just everything. I.V. Marie wraps up the main plot excellently, while still leaving just enough that I know I will read the third book. I mean, who doesn’t want to know what happens with Wren and August?! The plot twists in the book are crazy; I was literally shocked twice, and that is pretty uncommon for me.I highly recommend this if you like multiple POV’s, familial drama, morally grey characters (Irene), and happy endings.
I really enjoyed the first book, so I went into this one with high expectations, but it just didn’t hit the same for me. The first half felt slow, and with so many different POVs, it was hard to stay invested. I was waiting to see what happened with Wren and August and the demian order which I got eventually. The second half definitely picked up and had some emotional moments and twists that kept me reading. There were a lot of POVs from the characters and I felt that Wren took a step back where she was in book 1. I will say I thought the ending was good.
I did NOT see the twists coming! The book had me captivated the entire time. There are multiple POVs. The characters are in several different locations dealing with their own agendas. For much of the story, I wasn't sure which campaign was the right path.I also loved that there are several sets of couples, or love interests. It remains clean the entire time. Nothing more than longing looks, thoughts, or kisses. There are FF and MM pairings as well as MF.It's a wonderful series for clean fantasy lovers, though there is violence and possible trigger warnings.
