A very spiritual and uplifting collection of writings weaved with the wisdom of the indigenous peoples. Each author shares their thoughts via their own style and perspectives. I found it to be both uplifting and educational and the pages to be inviting with colorful pictures and art. It’s truly a very unusual work, in the best kind of way. The hardback book was so well made and it features a cover photo that really draws you in right from the start. It would make a great addition to any library or book collection.
Beyond the absolutely beautiful presentation and imagery, I found Sacred Ceremony for a Sacred Earth to be very inspiring and full of insights. The way it blends Indigenous traditions with practical tips to navigate the modern stress really spoke to me. I like that the book teaches ceremony as a living practice that can reconnect us to one another. It felt practical and it brings a very interesting perspective that I had not bee exposed to much before, so I found it to be especially interesting. If you are looking to expand your horizons and learn about healing and growth from an Indigenous lens, this seems like a fantastic resource.
Well put together, beautifully designed, and full of wisdom. This book is a living reminder of the blessings one experiences when attending Aniwa Gathering. Having personally met and learned from many of the wisdom keepers in this book, I can attest that the teachings contained within the book are lived everyday by those who offer the wisdom. They walk the talk and live what they believe. To have their words and wisdom accessible in every moment by way of this book is a gift. I am of "white descent," and so to have access to the guidance and practices offered in these pages is truly a blessing.
There are underground rivers that occasionally come to the surface. This book brings a river that we sensed was there but had no access to into focus. In this book, the ceremony and ritual that have been feeding this underground river come to the surface, where we can appreciate the connections that continue to be made on behalf of the human community. One day we might look forward to wading into the river itself. Until that day, there is this book.
A book with indigenous teachings that retains their essence and authenticity! The Aniwa community is truly doing it right.
