Joe Pickett finds himself caught between environmental extremists and ruthless assassins bent on slaughtering the tree huggers. Joe struggles to survive in the unforgiving wilderness. This was wonderful read.
Joe Pickett represents the regular working man, not a big hero type. He has dreams and thoughts and plans and feelings just the same as we do. Joe makes me feel as though he is my brother.
And a good father, and husband, and game warden. He is a terrible shot with a gun. He is very moral. He is actually rather boring, but because he such a likable person the book was a good read. The good guys vs the bad guys was blurred so that neither was likable.
CJ Box has brought us another great saga, filled with drama, well-developed characters and enough action that you won’t want to put this book down! Great plot, with plenty of twists and turns. I highly recommend.
C.J.Box is a very good writer since it is difficult to stop reading before his books are finished. When completed one needs another C.J. Box book to read.
