"Grant Ginder has written The Big Chill of our times...and possibly done an even better job. So Old, So Young is a triumph. I will never forget these characters." --Elin Hilderbrand
"So Old, So Young is a story of romantic love, professional jealousy, misplaced longing, and--above all--the gift of lifelong friendship. You will laugh on every page, except for when you find yourself moved to tears." --Jenny Jackson, New York Times bestselling author of Pineapple Street
Six Friends.
Five Parties.
Twenty Years...
How did we get So Old, So Young?
From Grant Ginder, the bestselling author of The People We Hate at the Wedding, comes a generation-defining novel that is part love story, part tragic comedy. Five parties over the course of twenty years bring six college friends together, exploring the ways we run from and cling to our friends in love, life, and death.
For Marco and Mia, Sasha and Theo, Richie and Adam, the one constant in life after college together has been change. New jobs. New cities. New spouses. New children. Through it all, one thing they thought would always stay the same is their friendship. But time has a way of breaking even the strongest bonds, and testing what we thought we knew. From East Village apartment parties and disastrous destination weddings, to fortieth birthdays and suburban backyard barbecues, Grant Ginder's resonant, funny, and deeply moving novel is a story about the growing pains of the Millennial generation, and a celebration of how love can shift, stumble, and grow into something bigger than we ever could have imagined.

The plot is aimless. Too many non-discript characters to remember. No real point to the story. Going in the garbage now, I don't want to make anyone else miserable reading it
This is a story told from six different points of view. Spanning from their early twenties in college, to their early forties as adults that aren't yet old, but not so young anymore, either.Every personality type is represented among this group of friends. There's the bad-boy, the good-boy, the gay-boy. You have the rich-girl, the smart-girl, the annoying-girl. A lot happens in the span of twenty years when you're trying to figure out who you're meant to be in life.If you associate pop culture songs to periods of your life, like I do, I promise, you will not be disappointed! The casual mention of what song and artist is playing in the background was not lost on me, and much appreciated! You will read about trials and tribulations of drug use, alcohol addiction, breakups, an affair, becoming a parent, and even the sudden death of best friend who died too young. But I promise, the laughs along the way, make it worth the ride!
I didn’t like this book. I didn’t like any of the characters. They are spoiled, entitled and for all their history, none of them were real friends. Let college friends go! Make new friends that are actually going to support your growth. I just didn’t understand where any of them we’re coming from. It’s a different world.
3.5/5 ⭐️ I really wanted to like this book, but there were too many characters with time jumps that I was left more confused than anything. I liked the messaging/overall theme of it, but definitely a miss for me.
Too many characters found it hard to keep who’s who’s. Just okay
