"Blythe Benedict is content. Her life didn't end when her marriage did. In fact, she's more than happy living in her comfortable house in Boston, working as a middle school teacher, and raising four wonderful children. With three of her kids in the throes of teenagerhood and one not too far behind them, Blythe has plenty of drama to keep her busy every single day. But no amount of that drama could change the family's beloved annual summer trip to Nantucket. Blythe has always treasured the months spent at her island home-away-from-home, ... but this summer's getaway proves to be much more than she bargained for. ... Every year I look forward to Nancy Thayer's newest summer book. This year it did not disappoint! Summer Light on Nantucket, loved this book. It was a story of a divorced mom with four children, spending the summer on the island of Nantucket. All the problems, mischief, the laughs, the tears that every member of this family goes through and you feel as if you are going through them too! Beautifully written and a book you never want to end!
Lovely albeit predictable story that brings Nantucket to life. For some reason, j didn’t care for the main character finding her too breezy and inauthentic to carry the whole story, but overall a nice summer read.
Always love Nancy’s books, I hate when they end as i get so involved with the families, women, lives and times. Thank you Nancy, from a loyal fan in Williamstown, MA
A very light read. Not much realistic character development. I usually enjoy Nancy Thayer, but this one is a skip.
Once again Nancy Thayer did not disappoint me. The novel is about Blythe and her family. Blythe owns a summer home on Nantucket. Her big family summers there every year. The book includes her wonderful Mother in law and other friends and family. You feel like you are spending the summer with her. Read the book and enjoy the trip.
