I hated this book. There was nothing to love about it at all. Gross and sadly disappointing. Story was bland and unexciting.
This book is well written and the characters are well developed, but I felt the angst and grief of the characters overwhelmed the story line. Overall this was my least favorite book of the author's Nantucket series.
The book was engaging and entertaining. I took off one star because the ending was a little anti-climactic. Still, worth reading.
I love Elin Hildebrand’s books, this one didn’t meet the mark for me. Perhaps it was too unrealistic in the relationships that the couples had together and with each other, considering the undertones of the unhealthy relationships that were a part of the plot. Some of these characters carry forward in from other books and it just didn’t match up for me. Everything was too sad, too tragic and too unbelievable. I suppose that is what fiction is, but I didn’t particularly enjoy this book, but I finished it.
A cast of unlikable characters that we are supposed to like. It was tough slugging through the repetitive narration. What a bunch of self indulgent people lacking a moral compass. The story was difficult to believe.
