New York Times bestselling author and BookTok sensation Carissa Broadbent returns with a brand new novel in the Crowns of Nyaxia series, The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk.
Mische made the ultimate sacrifice to save those she loves - and plunged the world into an eternal night. Now, imprisoned by the gods and obsessed with revenge, Asar is desperate to find her again.
When a goddess offers them a final path to redemption - and back to each other - Asar and Mische embark on an extraordinary mission. Together, they must seize the power of the god of death so Asar may do the impossible: ascend to true divinity.
Their journey will take them through mortal and immortal realms, alongside both old friends and ruthless enemies. But as the underworld teeters on the brink of collapse and the gods prepare for a war, Asar and Mische must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for the power to defy death. In a game of vengeful gods and ancient betrayals, there are some debts that even love may not be able to repay.

This series grew on me. I got hooked on the audiobook of the second novel as narrators were great and brought it to life for me. This book has such beautiful moments and beautiful characters. Also nice to have back our favorite characters from the previous novels. I look forward to the next installment about the House of Blood. I would say this is a top quality romantasy with spice and story.
I REALLY enjoyed reading this fourth book! I'm not going to give any spoilers away, but I'm eager to see what direction books 5 & 6 go (for Bloodborn, but you knew that just from looking at the covers and reading books 1, 2 & 3), since book four definitely has more options (especially with that epilogue!) than the wrap up of book two. In this series (so far), books in order of how I have enjoyed the writing are books 2, 4, 1, 3... but of course you MUST read these in order!!!! Well, maybe you could read book 3 & this book 4 and then read books 1 & 2, but I think a reader would miss out on some things that are covered in the earliest books of the series (inside books 1 & 2). When the book arrived, I read it cover to cover, then read a bunch of my favorite chapters, and now I'm going back and re-reading book 4 The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk cover to cover - like a wonderful treat!! I will not be putting this book down for a while, though I temporarily set it on my bookcase shelf just to take a photo. If you are reading this far into my review, step up and just BUY THIS BOOK NOW - you will not regret it! I hope my review helps someone else.In case my review is combined with other books' reviews, this is my book's description: The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk: The Shadowborn Duet, Book Two (Crowns of Nyaxia, 4)
This was an amazing end to Mische and Asar’s story. I’m not going to lie, I shed some ugly tears but it was so worth it. I enjoyed seeing old friends (enemies?) and following Mische and Asar’s journey to their real home. Can’t forget Luce, wish my dog would act like her! Enjoy this book but have your tissue ready.
I couldn’t put this book down. From the world building to the suspense and action packed storyline, I was entranced. Carissa truly outdid herself with this one. I’m so excited for book 4. Thank you again for such a wonderful fantasy.
The Fallen and the Kiss of Dusk by Carissa BroadbentSun flipping take me!After waiting what felt like a life time for this book to come out (ok for me it was only 5 months but it felt like forever 🤣) I have devoured every second of The Fallen over the last few days! What an epic journey, I feel like I’ve been on this adventure with Mische and Asar, this story has changed me, I am in awe of the incredible world building and character development that Carissa pours into this series!I feel like I’m at a loss for words on what else to say, this series has a very special place in my heart and each book just seems to pull you in and wow you even more than the last!I cannot wait to see what book 5 and 6 give us when we head into the Bloodborn duet, and if that epilogue is anything to go by, it’s going to be incredible!
