With explosive charges and shocking evidence, Alex Cross is about to face the trial of the century in the #1 New York Times bestselling series. Alex Cross is on the wrong side of the law. Charged with gunning down followers of his nemesis Gary Soneji in cold blood, he is being turned into the poster child for trigger-happy cops. Cross knows it was self-defense. But will a jury see it that way? When his former partner Sampson shows up needing his help, Cross jumps at the chance, even if it may end up costing him what's left of his career. When a string of young, blonde women go missing, the investigation leads Cross and Sampson to the most depraved, darkest corners of the internet, where murder is just another form of entertainment. As the prosecution presents its case, and the nation watches, even those closest to Cross begin to doubt his innocence. If he can't convince his own family that he didn't pull the trigger with intent to kill, how can he hope to persuade a jury? But even with everything on the line, Cross will do whatever it takes to stop a dangerous criminal . . . even if he can't save himself. Struggling to prove his own innocence and uncover the truth lurking online, Cross must risk everything to save his most at-risk patient of all: himself.

The people versus Alex Cross is one of James Patterson's best books. I couldn't put it down and I finished it in one day. There was so much going on in this book. From court to trying to find teenage blond girls who had been kidnapped, this is definitely one of his best books I have ever read. I have been reading his books since I was in my 20's and I'm now 69. Thank you Mr. Patterson for sharing your passion for writing books for a woman who loves to read.
This book was scary good, I read it much faster then I had intended to, I just couldn't put it down. Alex got himself into a big old mess this time, and it took his nine-year old genius son to help him get out. This was so good and you really didn't figure things out until the very end. I can't wait to read the next book.
this was a sleeper of a story, for me hard to get thru the court battle but very intriqueing & suspenseful !!! excelkent plot amust read !!! on to the next one Alex Cross !!!
The humanity of the characters was fully explored and the story captivating. A very enjoyable read! Alex and his family at their best.
This 2017 book is typical James Patterson. Good mystery. Fast paced. Believable returning characters. New bad guys. Plenty of violence. Not only is Alex on trial for being an example of anation-wide epidemic of out of control police officers thinking they are above the law, but cyber terrorists and the dark web is central in the story. If you are a fan of Alex Cross and James Patterson, you will enjoy the book. If you want a quick read, you will enjoy the book. Three stars for me. And one more 2025 reading challenge prompt knocked out!
