Couldn't put it down. She is always a sure bet. Anything she writes is fantastic. This is just another winner.
A wedding for Celeste and Benji on Nantucket is called off when the bride’s maid of honor is found deceased in the water outside of the groom’s family home. The novel is a mystery and a character study into relationships. The only unflawed character seems to be the groom who loves his fiancé and want’s nothing more than to be married to her. Celeste, the bride seems unsure, naive and somewhat driven by what is expected of her rather than what she wants. The groom’s parents, hosts for the wedding are both hiding secrets. The groom’s married brother is unhappy with his pregnant wife and the best man makes a move on the bride. The bride’s mother suffering from terminal cancer is trying to “be there” for her daughter and the bride’s father feels out of place in the privileged world of Nantucket’s residents. Not much to like about most characters as the “who dunnit” unfolds.
Book arrived in great condition. I am so pleased!!
Perfection through the eyes of others? We all make mistakes, it’s whether we continue to make them or learn from them that can define our character.
Loved this book! Read the book before watching the show though storyline first Netflix show doesn’t follow book exactly. Book is better in my opinion!
