In the sixth mystery in the New York Times bestselling Royal Spyness series, Lady Georgiana Rannoch cannot wait to ring in the New Year--before a Christmas killer wrings another neck...
Scotland, 1933. While her true love, Darcy O'Mara, is spending his feliz navidad tramping around South America and her mother is holed up in a tiny village called Tiddleton-under-Lovey with droll playwright Noel Coward, Georgie is quite literally stuck at Castle Rannoch thanks to a snowstorm.
It seems like a Christmas miracle when she manages to land a position as hostess to a posh holiday party in Tiddleton. The village should be like something out of A Christmas Carol, but as soon as she arrives things take a deadly turn when a neighborhood nuisance falls out of a tree. On her second day, another so-called accident results in a death--and there's yet another on her third, making Georgie wonder if there's something wicked happening in this winter wonderland...
Includes an English Christmas companion, full of holiday recipes, games, and more!

Interesting and unique modes of murder in a way too long book. Cut out at least 1/4 of the book and it’s a fun holiday with the King’s cousin.
But better! The Spyness books are carefully researched and meticulously planned. No loose ends whatsoever in the plots and a lot of interesting details from bygone eras. They let you escape from today’s technical and pretty vulgar times and when you finish them, you do not regret that you spent hours reading them. That is a very rare treat when reading pop mystery books genra!
Not only a very good mystery surrounding the 12 Days of Christmas but a great description of a old fashioned English Christmas with all the food and traditions included. Recipes and activities are described in the back if you wish to recreate your own English Christmas, hopefully without the murders.
Not my favorite but a strong mystery in the series. If you are jumping in with this book as your first one, don’t. You really need to go back a few books to get the feel for the characters, or better, start with the beginning, Her Royal Spyness. Now for the nuts and bolts - Fig is as awful as ever. With her family coming for the holidays, Georgie desperately needs to escape, and does so brilliantly. In doing so, she steps into not only a 12 day long mystery with alarming deaths, but also a lovely old fashioned Christmas celebration, Darcy included. I loved the development of Darcy and Georgie’s relationship, the strengthening of her relationship with her mom, and her grandmother.
Yet another lovely history mystery! I always look forward to the next one! Throwback loveliness and an Agatha Christie vibe.
