I throughly enjoyed the book, but for me, I was looking for a higher emphasis on sumo... and maybe less on the general discussion of culture of Japan. To be fair and honest, the book really does advertise as including both areas of interest, and they are both well covered. The author did a good job.It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, and that's the only reason I withheld one star. Other folks might be totally satisfied.
Amazing book about the sumo culture
Got it as a gift and they love it
Instead of just a Sumo primer, it’s how Sumo grew out of and relates to Japanese culture. Fascinating reading for all of us who are fans of Sumo. Highly recommended!!
Great read for the Non-Japanese Sumo enthusiast.
