Great product!
This entire set of Tolkien books is lovely. Good quality binding and paper thickness. Each has a ribbon and maps on the inside covers. Excellent hardcover editions. However this series is known for having issues with the foil embossing on either the cover Or the spine. I personally have never found a copy of the two towers that didnβt have the Tolkien monogram messed up on the spine, except for those available in the box set only.
Love this book series. Itβs takes me out of my mind thatβs always running rampant and transfers me into another world into another place and just puts me at peace and enjoy the book and adventure
For curious newcomers, The Lord of the Rings is one novel, often published in 3 volumes. (This being the second, after "Fellowship" and before "Return of the King".)This novel is spectacular. I hate that I put off reading it for so long. I grew up on the 70's cartoon version of The Hobbit, and of course Larry the Cucumber's "Lord of the Beans", and subsequently the Peter Jackson films. I read The Hobbit in middle school, but was discouraged from attempting to read LotR because it was "long and dry", which is a horrible lie. Long, sure, I believe it's over 1000 pages from the beginning of Fellowship to the end of Return of the King, but dry? Nonsense. It's more entertaining and inspiring that any movie series.10/10 will probably re-read several times.
This volume is simply beautiful; the themed picture on the front and the colored page edges add beauty and character. Not as fancy as some other collector volumes, and no pictures inside, but will do very nicely as a collector item on a budget.
