This book starts where the other one ended. I truly appreciated the summary of the last book prior to the beginning of this book. It had been almost a year since I read book one. It still took some time to get back into the storyline and the characters. It seemed to drag until about 100 pages in. After that, the pace picked up, so did the intrigue & suspense of the storyline.Nia, main female character, finds her long lost father as well as a portal into the fae land’s & capital city. She goes to rescue Raphael, an MI 13 agent and lover from book one. She is successful but Raphael refuses to leave the fae lands without his long lost sister & breaks up with Nia. Nia encounters the dark fae prince as she is trying to get back to the human lands. The rest of the book is Nia undercover journey & exploits as the fae princes’ fake mistress.The romance is only suggestive and very slow burn between Nia & the fae prince. The ending is not really but kind of a cliffhanger. I know that makes no sense, but once you read it, you’ll understand! Now that I’m invested into the storyline & characters, I hope book 3 has already been released. I hate having to wait & forgetting all the build up from this book!
The story flips around when Nia gets so deep undercover that you start questioning both sides of this war. I have way more questions than I have answers but I want to know more!
Omg what!? The ending had my kolas on the floor! Though I’m kind of annoyed with Raphael 😂Can’t wait to read the third book. I’m really enjoying this series!
The storyline is interesting. It's not too tropey. I got the first of the series to try it out and it was definitely worth getting the whole series. It will make you forget you're reading. That's the best compliment I can give to a book.
