Warrior Princess Assassin was a fantastic read! Told from three different points of view the warrior, the princess, and the assassin. This story completely captured my heart. I genuinely loved all three characters.The assassin was such a tortured soul, and I couldn’t get enough of his depth and pain. The princess starts out naive, but she’s incredibly brave and strong, and it was so rewarding to see her grow and come into her own. And the warrior? Gruff on the outside but kind and tender underneath, he was absolutely wonderful.This is a slow-burn polyamorous why-choose romance, and honestly, it’s the best I’ve ever read in that genre. These three feel meant to be together, they balance each other perfectly, and their emotional journey was beautifully done. The romance develops slowly, but that just made the character development even richer and more satisfying.The book is light on worldbuilding but strong on character depth. Watching these three fall in love was so romantic and touching. The tension, the angst, the chemistry—it was all so well crafted. I was fully entertained from start to finish and never felt like the story dragged.Highly recommend this one if you’re looking for an emotional, character-driven, and beautifully executed why-choose romance. I loved it!
I always try to go as blindly as possible into a new book because I want to be surprised, but I’m glad I knew what I was getting into with this one 🤭The whole story happens only in the span of a few days and the action is very minimal. Instead, the book focuses mainly on the romance and the internal monologue of the characters: their thoughts, worries, and the way they see the world. I thought this was very well done and the book never feels boring.The spice was ok, although I enjoyed a lot more the anticipation and the yearning from the three characters.Thanks to the publisher for my copy! This was my first book from this author and I'm intrigued to read more 🥰
No Spoilers. 2.5 star but I always round up. Let me start by saying Why Choose is probably my favorite troupe. That being said, I’m just not sure how to feel about this book. I think part of the problem is that most why choose have a central main character. Even if swords cross, there is one person that is the center of the group and provides focus because multiple love interests can get jarring. This book is missing that. Because of that it throws you around quite a bit. I adore when boyfriends are boyfriends but in this case, it often felt like their connection is stronger and more important than their connections with her and I don’t like that imbalance. I know that the author was trying to show that each person provides something for the other person that the other couldn’t provide but it didn’t feel good. It felt kind of crappy and hurtful for the other character. Jory also drove me absolutely insane with how naive she is. I typically HATE the whole “princess in a castle doesn’t know the depravity in her kingdom” troupe but I love Why Choose so I skipped some of her obnoxious inner monologue and kept going. The story was also very predictable. It was clear who was behind the attacks. I feel like I already know what will likely happen in the next books. I’m very torn. Not sure I’ll continue the series.
I went in blind with Warrior Princess Assassin and had no clue what kind of chaos Brigid Kemmerer had in store for me. Was everyone into each other? Possibly. Did I eventually realize the answer was yes? Absolutely. And I am here for it!!!And let me tell you, the briefest of touches gave me goosebumps and had me weak in the knees. The tension and yearning in this book are unreal and delicious. Add in the 3 POV’s from the warrior, the princess, and the assassin, and you have a trifecta that makes this story impossible to put down. What I want most is to see these tangled relationships pushed even further in ways that will keep me guessing.

I'm not sure where to start here. I adore Brigid's YA fantasy books, so when I saw she was writing a Romantasy Trilogy, I was all in. This is only book one, so I won't pass final judgement quite yet. Comparing it to the other first books, I liked it more than A Curse of Dark and Lonely, but not more than Forging Silver into Stars or my all time fav Defy the Night. But if you have read and liked any of those, you'll like Warrior Princess Assassin.Ky, the Warrior, was my favorite. He really seems to be in the middle of both the plot and the romance. Delicious morally grey, warrior king vibes going on. Then there is Asher, the Assassin and my broken boy. I can't wait to see the emotional journey Brigid will take him on that will undoubtedly break me. Last but not least there is Jory, the sheltered Princess. I just know there is a plot twist waiting for her in book two (which seems to be the most emotionally destructive book in Brigid's series). Brigid, if you are reading this, I'm ready to get hurt by the next book!Warrior Princess Assassin is definitely an adult book. The spicy scenes were spicing. This is going to be a series to watch!
