"Ada's trip to Ireland is off to a bad start. Her boyfriend--and plus-one to her sister's destination wedding--bowed out at the last minute and decided they should take a break from their eight-year relationship. On top of that, tension is high between her and the bride ever since Ada voiced her disapproval of the quick engagement. Already carrying enough emotional baggage to exceed airline regulations, she really isn't surprised when her connection is canceled and she finds herself stranded in London. But things go from bad to worse when Ada realizes that Jack, the handsome stranger with whom she shared layover cocktails and used as a sounding board to gripe about her sister's fianc¢e, is in fact, the best man. Now, the only way they'll make it to the wedding on time is if they travel from London to Belfast together. But between flat tires, missed trains, hotel rooms with only one bed, and a whole lot of bickering, Ada and Jack can't deny their attraction to one another"--

Why did I let this sit on my TBR for so long? I'm so disappointed with myself because this was such a fun debut novel. The banter was top notch and the chemistry was sizzling. The amount of bad luck these characters had to endure to get to this wedding was unbelievable. It was made more fun with their initial animosity toward each other which grew into understanding. Watching their relationship evolve throughout their travels and having them endure many moments of forced proximity is this bookworm's delight. What made the book stand out to me was how the author didn't give the reader a cookie-cutter ending. I was feeling all the feels and my heart was pitter-pattering and wishing and hoping for the ending to go the way I wanted. Let's just say, I'm kicking and squeeing with joy as I type this. Just go ahead and read it. 😍
The way I couldn’t put this book down!Top notch banter and ridiculous bad luck travel situations made this book so much fun.A perfect meet cute that ends up being the maid of honor and best man for a wedding, Jack and Ada stole my heart. I was smiling the entire time I was reading.I can’t believe this is a debut!
This was a fun forced proximity road trip romance across England to Ireland. I loved Ada and Jack’s journey- both the crazy cross-country trip with a deadline and their own personal growth journey. I definitely laughed and was rooting for both of them, especially Ada.Thanks to the publisher for sharing a copy with me. All opinions are my own.
You know the kind of books that you don’t have to read because as your eyes scan the pages you’re playing the movie in your head? THIS is that book. The perfect summer rom com. I was smiling and laughing and crying through the entire book. If this doesn’t get turned into a movie I will be so disappointed. It was absolutely perfect and I know I’ll be thinking about it for a while. Easily one of my favorites of the year.
When he's"If love is waiting for a guy you spent 8 years with to text you back, I think I'll pass."but he's also"I wish I could be the guy who was all in. The guy who would crawl over broken glass for you...but I can't..."Ada and Jack experience some travel difficulties together without realizing they're headed towards the same wedding neither of them want to happen or to attend. I liked these characters so much and was rooting so hard for them, but as the story goes on you realize that these two may need some alone time. The angst for them to get together was as strong as my angst that they stay apart. I just could not decide how I wanted this book to go. Heather McBreen did an amazing job writing these two and making them so likable, so relatable. I truly wanted the best for them both. I love the way the story developed and opened up. I love the ending and the tough time it took to get there."But maybe that's not what love is...it's a quiet certainty that you're not alone, whatever comes.."read with: audiobook/kindle
