The #1 internationally bestselling phenomenon, When the Moon Hatched, is a fast-paced fantasy romance featuring an immersive, vibrant world with mysterious creatures, a unique magic system, and a love that blazes through the ages.

The Creators did not expect their beloved dragons to sail skyward upon their end. To curl into balls just beyond gravity's grip, littering the sky with tombstones. With moons. They certainly did not expect them to FALL.

As an assassin for the rebellion group Fíur du Ath, Raeve's job is to complete orders and never get caught. When a rival bounty hunter turns her world upside down, blood spills, hearts break, and Raeve finds herself imprisoned by the Guild of Nobles--a group of powerful fae who turn her into a political statement.

Crushed by the loss of his great love, Kaan Vaegor took the head of a king and donned his melted crown. Now on a tireless quest to quell the never-ebbing ache in his chest, he is lured by a clue into the capitol's high-security prison where he stumbles upon the imprisoned Raeve ...

Echoes of the past race between them.

There's more to their story than meets the eye, but some truths are too poisonous to swallow.

"A wild ride that thrills as much as it enchants . . . This remarkable book is an instant classic." -- Thea Guanzon, New York Times bestselling author of The Hurricane Wars

"When The Moon Hatched breathes new, beautiful life into the genre, as Sarah A. Parker weaves lyrical prose with undeniable chemistry. I laughed, I cried, I got everything out of this. It's an absolutely stunning fantasy world that everyone should sink their teeth into." -- Raven Kennedy, internationally bestselling author of The Plated Prisoner series

Next book please

The next book can't come soon enough. I am excited to read about what comes next for the characters, and see what comes of the information "found" at the end of this book

Epic storytelling

What starts as a highly descriptive book quickly builds into an epic story. The "will they/won't they" romance is addictively good, driven by two incredibly complex main characters. The heroine is lethal, damaged, and full of secrets, with most still a mystery by the gripping cliffhanger. The author's deep storytelling and character development fully immerse you in their world. While the writing is initially heavy on description, by Chapter 11, the details begin to expertly frame the plot, and the sharp dialogue takes over. The witty character interactions brilliantly develop their personalities.Count me in for the next installment!

Yes. No. Maybe?

Did I like this book? I'm honestly not sure.I read the whole thing in just a few days, which says something, but when I finished, I didn’t walk away with a clear sense of whether I actually enjoyed it or was just determined to get through it. For a book this long, there are certainly satisfying moments, but the overall experience for me felt lackluster. The final act probably intrigued me enough to check out the next book, though I’m not exactly excited about it. I liked several of the side characters, but I had a complicated relationship with the fmc. She's definitely an antihero. I found myself flip-flopping between being interested in her arc and just being frustrated and finding her grating. Some of her internal monologue gets very repetitive. The pacing might be part of the issue. It’s slow, and the plot sometimes feels like it’s moving in circles. The magic system and dragons are interesting enough and are well-imagined.In short: I didn’t hate it. I didn’t love it. I’m... conflicted.
