It's always hard to read anything that has to do with missing children, abuse, and trauma. This novel brings it to light in a beautiful way.
I've read all of Paula's other books & was a little surprised by this one. It has some darkness to it. Writing about missing girls, isn't pretty. I really liked her foster father's calm wisdom. There were some real gems in this sometimes hard to read storyline. I liked it, just wasn't what I expected.
McClain’s writing is impeccable—her characters are multidimensional and complex. The story keeps you guessing right up to the end. I highly recommend it!
Terrific looking used bookby one of my favorite authors
This is the second book by Paula McClain that I've read. Both were stunning, with characters and a plot that are very real. I especially like the authors spiritual take on life, on tragedy, and on hope. I'm not given to gushing over books I like, but this one's a standout in my 75 of reading.
