The ultimate story of the Scream movie franchise, featuring interviews from more than eighty key players and an in-depth exploration of the creation and legacy of the films that revived a dying genre
In Your Favorite Scary Movie, entertainment journalist Ashley Cullins examines the making and impact of the Scream films with behind-the-scenes insight from cast, creators, and crew, as well as sharp analysis on how the movies' special blend of gruesome violence and humorous self-awareness rewrote the horror playbook. This intimate and thorough history includes brand-new interviews from Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Kevin Williamson, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jack Quaid, Parker Posey, Hayden Panettiere, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Radio Silence, Roger L. Jackson, and so many more.
Perfect for fans of Scream, horror lovers, and cinephiles, this is the story of how a little movie about a ghost-faced killer terrorizing high schoolers overcame countless obstacles to become an historic success that still has audiences screaming to this day.

Thoroughly researched, masterfully told, with input from everyone you know and love, and some you might not, who helped make your favorite scary movie. Kevin Williamson himself calls it a “true bible” of the legacy of franchise. Read and enjoy your new favorite book about your favorite scare movie!
This book was a lot of fun to read. The original Scream came out when I was a teenager, and Ghostface is still one of my favorite characters. The original movie was genius and really changed the atmosphere for horror films, blending humor with gore and pop culture. This book explores, through interviews, quotes, and a ton of research, the making of all the films up until Scream 7, which hasn't even been released yet. It's nostalgic for folks like me, who have been fans since the beginning, but new fans might enjoy it as well. It's written in a style that makes you want to keep turning the page. Cullins has done a great job. I highly recommend. I also LOVE the cover. It's perfect for this book.
AMAZING book. I couldn’t put it down.I got sad when I finished because I wanted to keep going. As a huge Scream Franchise fan, this book was a MUST to add to my collection of Scream items.
I cannot even *begin* to tell you how excited I was when I received a review copy of this book. Scream has been one of my favorite movies (not just horror, but movies in general) since the first time I saw it, and I rewatch it every October without fail (and usually at least once or twice more each year). For starters, the cover is *amazing*. A Ghostface mask in popcorn? Whoever came up with that needs a raise, effective immediately, because it is absolute perfection. And the book itself definitely lives up to such an awesome design. Ashley really went all-out getting these interviews, covering all the movies up to the pre-production of Scream 7, which is set to release in 2026. We get the highest highs, the lowest lows, the studio drama, the on- and off-set camaraderie, and more. The chapter devoted to Wes Craven was a tearjerker, and it's plain to see how much of his heart and soul were put into the early movies in the franchise, which is a huge part of why they're just so damn good! And the fact that everyone who worked with him and those who kept the franchise going after his death did so with his vision in mind is a testament to how much this series means to everyone involved, whether it's the cast, the crew, or the millions of fans.If you're an avid Scream fan or just someone who likes horror in general, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. I learned a ton of stuff I didn't know before, laughed, cried, and vowed to start my next movie marathon as soon as I finished reading. Off I go!5 stars, but only because the rating system won't allow anything higher**I received a review copy of this book from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving this review. All thoughts and comments contained within are my own.**
